Hi Backers,

We detected problems in a small percentage of one of the production batches, and will require re-assembly work to ensure the problem doesn’t arise again. For this reason, we have paused shipping at this moment and are predicting a 4-6 week delay to resume shipping and production. 

Additionally we’ve received a lot of feedback from our backers about issues they may have come across with their keyboards, and want to provide a status update on those:

Issues that will be fixed: 

  • White colors have a slight red tint: Firmware fix in progress. 
  • Selectable color profiles on keyboard without the Q app: Firmware feature being added so Mac and Linux users can use keyboard combos to select different color profiles. 
  • Left pipe upper LED not setting to correct color: Firmware fix in progress.

Issues we are still investigating: 

  • Individual RGB colors visible to some during head movement: Investigating a firmware refresh rate modification. 
  • Brightness selection button next to the media keys doesn’t work when the Q app is running: Investigating optimal solution. 
  • Residual color transitions showing up during some effects: Investigating. 
  • Audible ring on keyboard: Investigating.

We understand any frustrations, and we feel the same, but we don't want to compromise on quality.

      Ok - I'm happy that you've finally provided a proper, fact-full update, so genuine congratulations on that part!
      But this is enough really - I've backed a UK layout keyboard which I believe wasn't even in production yet, and I absolutely refuse to wait yet another 4-6 (most likely 8+?) weeks for even more tweaks.
      I'll be pushing for a refund or maybe even engaging my bank to get my money back.
      I'd also be happy to receive any of your other proper mechanical keyboards instead of the 5Q at this stage, though I doubt anyone would be happy to arrange for that..?

      At this point I’ll even take half my money back. Better that then this going directly in the trash when it arrives. C’mon Das - do the right thing.

      What a joke. I'm not even looking forward to getting this anymore. I'd much rather have my money back or an actual tested and working keyboard.

      Would happily accept any of your other full size cheaper keyboards in trade at this point...

      I can't even tell if my keyboard has the Red Tint problem, because your software running on my windows computer isn't able to detect your keyboard yet - another bug you're aware of.

      How can i raise another separate ticket for an issue that a different one is preventing me from detecting?

      I've had enough I want my money back. DAS be a loyal company and offer refunds to your customers as I can't wait any longer. I really feel like when this keyboard arrives it will not be worth the wait one bit.

      just freaking type out notes from stand-up and post them.

      sad there are issues, but happy for the transparency.
