About this project
With an original, sweepingly romantic score, the story is re-imagined for the stage. It explores the emotions of a woman who is willing to risk everything as her love grows for the robust gamekeeper of her husband's estate. The story joyously affirms the universal need for both spiritual and physical love, celebrating the driving passions that can make life worth living as they navigate through their lives.
In development by the creative team since 2010, the first presentation of LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER was assembled in NYC in June of 2011. In September of 2011, and subsequently with revisions to the book and new songs, the project was enthusiastically received by peers in the theater industry. The creative team went into the studio to record the first of 7 songs for a fully orchestrated demo.
We need your help. In the months to come, the creators will offer a developmental reading with the full cast of 15, and present the complete score and book. Additional songs will be recorded for the demo, which then lead to an industry reading for producers, regional theaters, and potential backers in NYC, with the aim to propel LADY CHATTERLEY'S LOVER into a fully staged production.
Each contribution is important in making all of our production pieces fit. This major fundraising campaign will give you an open invitation into the process of getting a show on its feet! If you are a fan of the hit television show SMASH, you know just what the creators and cast might go through to get this show to the "Great White Way."
You have 30 days to join our team!
Be sure to check back with us -- we'll be adding photos, videos and other updates.
When we reach the goal of $10,000 we will upload the track of Christiane Noll singing "The Way To Go."
When we reach $20,000 we will add an upload of Hugh Panaro singing "Serpent in the Grass."
At $30,000 we will put all 8 demo songs up for your listening pleasure.
