Creepy Coolness: The Dice

Posted by Sean Preston (Creator)

We'rehappy to share a picture of the dice. A lot of you have been asking to see them. Here's the story: the dice got initially delayed because of Gen Con and then the first set was lost in transit. Our dice folks snapped a pic before they set another set our way.

They look pretty snazzy right? And we went with an iteration of HPL's elder sign design because want to keep things consistent thematically. Some of you have been asking about purchasing additional dice sets (a set is 2d6) and we're checking into how we can offer them to you. Keep your eyes peeled for future updates.

Joshua: They absolutely will. You can bet you will see that at my table when I run RoC! :D

These dice will pull double duty as wild die for Reality Blurs' Realms of Cthulhu. Awesome.

They are standard six-sided dice with an Elder Sign in lieu of the 6. You can certainly use regular six-sided dice with no issue, if you so desire.

Is it safe to assume that the non-visible sides are 4, 5, and 6? (I ask because if these are "three sided" dice with [elder sign], [elder sign], 2, 2, 3, 3 then the picture would look the same.) If they ARE three-sided, then I'll be upping my contribution to the next level to get five sets instead of one. If they are just six-sided with an elder sign for 1, then I'll just use regular dice.

We're exploring the possibility of offering up additional dice sets. When we've gathered all the necessary data, we'll be certain to let everyone know in a future update.

Any chance of the dice being done as an add-on, especially useful for foreign backers:-) :-)

Done right, The Congo could be awesome. It's an environment very different from the sort of default Lovecraftian horror of New England. But, as people noted in the previous post, it's incredibly easy to exoticize and and Other the people of the area. While doing so would certainly be true to the horror writers of the era, it's not something I'm comfortable with today. I think it's possible to make a great playset in such an environment, but it will likely require a hell of a lot of research. Best of luck in the project!

I agree with Michael. Lovecraft's original Elder Sign looks sweet on those dice!

Thanks, guys! The Elder Sign is indeed in place of the six. :D

I like that you decided to use Lovecraft's original version and not the one created by Derleth that has become so popular over the years. Kudos!

I assume the Elder Sign is on the 6-side of the dice. True?

Oh crap! Those dice alone are worth the price of admission
