We have started this Kickstarter to help fund our portable, 100% wood-fired, Naples-style oven. WildEarth WoodFired will offer locally-sourced, artisanal ingredients atop maple sourdough pizza crust in and around the Twin Cities metro area at farmers markets, festivals, and events, and in your own backyard. This Kickstarter will not only help fund part of the oven but also help cover the other costs of getting a new business off the ground (permits, commercial kitchen, etc.).
Born and raised in the Minneapolis area, Dan has been making and refining his pizza recipe for seemingly his whole life, inspiring him to manage pizza shops through and after college and ultimately construct a wood-fired, Naples-style oven in his South Minneapolis backyard two years ago. With this first oven, Dan and his team of friends have hosted multiple fundraisers for local organizations as well as birthday parties and other events that have strengthened the surrounding community. WildEarth WoodFired will share Dan's passion for a better local, sustainable pizza with the wider Twin Cities metro. Our new mobile oven will cater to farmers markets, weddings, music festivals, graduation parties, and any other event you can dream up. We just need your help to get the pizza rolling!
WildEarth's pizza is uniquely Minnesotan. Dan has cultivated a sourdough starter with Minnesota roots that serves as the basis for his signature crust, and local maple syrup adds a unique kick.
Dan uses only the finest ingredients, preferring locally-sourced and organic when possible as well as artisanal sausages and cheeses. After eating one of our pizzas, we guarantee you will walk away with a smile on your face.

We have everything from t-shirts with our hand-batiked logo by local artist Anne Christenson, an invitation to our kickoff parties with live music and all the pizza you can eat, booking your own private pizza making lesson, all the way up to booking your own catered event. With your help we can do this!
Remember, Kickstarter is all or nothing, so if we don't reach our goal of $6,000 we don't get anything. We have worked really hard to come up with some cool prizes and are ready for this great new pizza adventure to begin, but we can't do it without you. Risks and challenges
Every small business faces challenges, but Dan has worked to mitigate the risks of starting WildEarth WoodFired. As a first step, Dan has been working and managing jobs for an already successful mobile wood-fired pizza operation in Charlottesville, VA called Blue Ridge Pizza Co. With this valuable, hands-on experience, Dan has learned the ins and outs of running a wood-fired restaurant on the go as well as how to mitigate problems when they arise. WildEarth WoodFired has thoroughly researched Minnesota food law, picked out our commercial kitchen commissary space, and started putting together a tentative calendar of events for the summer, growing buzz for our business in our community and starting to plan catering and festival events.
