We are Project Palestine. An emerging student organization at The New School aimed at illustrating the Palestinian plight through film, music, literature, poetry, art and discussions. Project Palestine seeks to stimulate the mind by inviting artists to showcase their paradigm shifting work and discuss their fresh approach.
Project Palestine is hosting several remarkable events in NYC, but we need YOU to help KICKSTART our a yearlong series! We had our launch event in September, screening the film “Goal Dreams,” which follows the Palestinian national soccer team as they prepare for the World Cup (see video above.)
Our upcoming event will take place on October 26, 2010 and it will not be possible without your generous support! We will feature a panel of three creative individuals: Invincible (a Detroit-based hip hop artist), Pamela Olson (a New York-based writer) and Fida Qishta (a Palestinian independent filmmaker). Each will have the opportunity to discuss and showcase her creative project.
We need $1000 by Friday, Oct. 22, 2010. Your contributions will cover travel costs for our three artists, speaker fees and a little extra to provide local Middle Eastern cuisine for our attendees!
Funding beyond our goal would go toward the many future events Project Palestine has in store.
Project Palestinian was founded this year by Palestinian-American writer Noor Elashi and is supported by students who believe the voice of artists documenting the Palestinian struggle through art is important and unique. Help us bring this voice to life!
