Fans of Lovecraftian cinema are picky. I should know, I'm one of them. So many promised cinematic visions of eldritch horror just don't deliver. Why? Well, HPL filled his tales with "Unnameable" and "Indescribable" creatures best left to the reader's imagination...but in a film that's just not very satisfying. With YOUR help, we won't be hinting at a creature, we will be showing you one; a well crafted one. Rather than go the CGI route, we want to utilize and honor the time-tested resource of practical make-up FX. Latex creature appliances aren't cheap, and truly great looking designs cost even more to fully realize. Design, sculpting, casting, testing, applying and then lighting them correctly ( a crucial element!) all cost money; and we're just plain out of it. But if you help us to finish TRANSCENDENT, I can promise a good old-school, atmospheric genre film. Full of creepy cultists whose loathsome agenda to pervert the natural world involves a young woman just coming into her own for the first time in her life. We're already 1/2 way there, and we've gotten a great deal shot with a very limited budget. Now we're asking you to help us with completion funds so we can shoot the most expensive scenes, and finish the film's post-production in time for the 2012 H.P. Lovecraft Film Festival in Los Angeles, September 28 & 29. Thank you fellow cultists, and a heartfelt "IA!" to you all.
