It's been a while since we've last visited the Miskatonic School for Girls, and sadly, insanity has continued to fester in the minds of the students. Despite this, the girls have been keeping their spirits high and with the arrival of the holiday season, even some of the faculty have joined in on the festivities.
For those of you who are new to the horrible secrets of the universe, the Miskatonic School for Girls is a high class school for fine upstanding young women. The only problem is that the staff are all thinly disguised Lovecraftian horrors!
Miskatonic School for Girls is also deck building game with a totally new twist - you get to build your opponent's deck! While your opponent's try to keep their sanity, you'll be adding all sorts of nasty staff to their deck. Honestly, they don't stand a chance...
The original game was a hit on Kickstarter and it has gone on to be our best seller at retail stores around the world. This has left fans asking for more! So we've cooked up some wonderful, horrifying delights and packed them up in our very first expansion, Holiday Break. And of course, we've brought the madness back to Kickstarter! Here's what to expect...
In Holiday Break, players will start by choosing one of four unique houses to play that feature unique students, built-in house abilities, and strategies.
Expanded School Store Hours!
When you play with the Holiday Break expansion, the School Store expands from 3 to 4 spots, giving players much more flexibility and choices when attracting new students and sending faculty after your opponents.
Many of the new cards have "Purchase:" abilities. These abilities trigger when you buy them, so you'll have to weight the value of the "right now" power vs. the value of the card once it's circulating in your deck (or your opponent's deck!).
More Faculty, More Students, More Madness
The new students and faculty in Holiday Break increase player's choices and create great offensive and defensive combos with other cards and with house privileges. The Miskatonic School for Girls will never be the same!
More cards for everyone. That's what our stretch goals are all about and we're looking to unlock them in a wide variety of ways - some are unlock-able even before the funding goal is even hit.
Stretch Goal #1: Three Copies of Wanda Gilman in the game. UNLOCKED!
Stretch Goal #2: Three Copies of Rod Gogh in the game. UNLOCKED!
Stretch Goal #3: The Holiday Party Event added to the game: UNLOCKED!
Stretch Goal #4: The Gym Locker (2 copies each of 2 different cards) added to the game: UNOCKED!
Stretch Goal #5: Field Trip to Antarctica, will be delivered to each backer if we get to $14,350. This event will not appear in the retail package, but each backer will get one copy for each copy of Holiday Break they get. The event allows all players to remove a student and a faculty in their discard piles from the game!
Add-On #1: If you know what the internet is, you'll want Flame War, Andy Chambers' super fun game where each player takes the roll of a forum moderator. We're making this game available at a huge discount to all backers of this campaign! Just add $19 to your pledge and we'll add Flame War to your shipment (Add $4 more for Canada/Mexico and $8 for Europe).
Add-On #2: If you want an extra copy of Holiday Break to any other pledge, just raise your pledge by $27 ($4 extra for Canada/Mexico, $10 for Europe)
Add-On #3: If you want an extra copy of the base MSfG game just add $37 to your pledge (+$9 for Canada/Mexico and +$28 for Europe)
Add-On #4: Fairy Mischief: A super fun game designed to help turn kids into table top gamers, designed by our own art director and his wife. This game starts simple, but has a raft of additional rules that can be introduced as your child is ready for them. With fantastic art by Jasmine-Beckett Griffith, it's as beautiful as it is fun! Available here for the discounted price of just $26 (+$8 for Canada, +$20 for Europe/Australia).
Our artist, Betsy Peterschmidt returns to lend her water color talents to each and every card, illustrating the unfortunate students as well as the disturbing and poorly disquised faculty. We loved working with Betsy, and because her art was such a big part of MSfG we couldn't imagine doing the expansion without her!
And for our Spanish speaking friends out there, here's a review of the game. Of course this sentence in in English, so I'm not sure how helpful this is...

Fun to 11 is a micro company that has successfully launched several games on Kickstarter. Although Fun to 11 is a side project for us, we have more than 70 combined years of professional game industry experience between us, so you can trust us to be on time. Of our first 4 games, 2 shipped on time, and 2 shipped early.
Risks and challenges
We've been doing this for awhile, so we consider the risk to be very low. That said, there always exist the unforeseen weather and customs type issues. Or one of us could get hit by a bus, which would really stink.
Our track records stands as a good testament to our executional excellence though: of our 5 funded Kickstarted games, 3 shipped on time, and 2 shipped early.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
