Aspen Meditation is a meditative film designed to transform feelings of stress into calm peacefulness and feelings of anxiety into centered mindfulness.
Meditative film is something whose time has come. Life in modern times has become fast-paced and jam-packed with information. While there are many things in our lives we seek to improve, tangible, physical improvements become more accessible if we improve our inner selves first. We can focus our priorities more effectively if we remember to apply perhaps the greatest priority - inner peace. Together, we can bring more peace and serenity to the world.
Aspen Mediation is set amid wonder-filled landscapes to take you away from your worries of the moment; the visuals showcase the extreme natural beauty of Aspen, CO, the production is of the highest quality, the music will be an all-original score, crafted to harmoniously accompany the visuals.
Our Director of Photography, Danny Kelly Brown, was born and raised in Colorado and lives in Aspen.
All footage is shot in 4K resolution, or higher, with Red Dragon cameras, motion-controlled cameras for time-lapse photography and professional drones for the aerial footage.
All the music in Aspen Meditation will be carefully written to complement the visuals.
Master Stone Balance Artist Michael Grab
Michael Grab is the mega-talented artist and creator of all the stone balancing art on this page, and in the film.
To describe his art, he has coined the phrase "gravity glue". He describes his creative process as contemplative, involving mental disciplines of patience, problem-solving, critical thinking, and adaptation, as well as physical disciplines of slow-breathing, and steady hands.
Studies have shown that persons who report experiencing more awe in their lives, also feel wonder more regularly, appreciate beauty to a greater degree, become more generous and cooperative toward others, and feel more connected to their own consciousness.
Guided Meditation by Michael Bernard Beckwith
Michael Bernard Beckwith, Founder and Spiritual Director of the Agape International Spiritual Center, will do our first narrative. He is a frequent guest on Oprah and a featured teacher in the film, The Secret.
He participated with the Dalai Lama in The Synthesis Dialogues. In 2009, he presented his book Spiritual Liberation in a live webinar with Oprah Winfrey. His talents and skills in Guided Meditation are quite renowned.
MEET THE TEAM
Bob Mills - Director, Producer, and Composer
Bob is a filmmaker and musician. He has always enjoyed mystical places, and received powerful inspiration from the Awe of Nature and the Magic of Music. He loves acoustic instruments and playing indigenous flutes. His meditation music is used by yoga practitioners and massage therapists worldwide. He studied metaphysics with Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith, Founder of the Agape International Spiritual Center. He founded Direct Experiences Films to make films that serve as touchstones for peace.
"I like to say that this film is designed as a touchstone for peace. Production is complete, funded to date by my limited personal funds. This Kickstarter is to raise 'finishing funds'. Thank you so much for visiting, and thanks in advance for your support." ~Bob Mills
Robb Hirsch - Location Producer and Still Photographer
Robb is an accomplished photographer. His photography is an extension of his love for the natural world. Beginning as a biologist and natural historian, he traveled through Africa, Central America and the western U.S. and absorbed beauty and gained understanding. As a field biologist, he focused on threatened and endangered species. His images have won prestigious awards, been the subject of solo gallery showings, and been featured in numerous publications. He also served as location producer, and given his love and talent for images with careful composition and delicate illumination, it was an ideal match with Aspen Meditation.
Danny Kelly Brown - Director of Photography, Editor, Associate Producer
Danny is a Cinematographer and Artist based out of Colorado. He has achieved commercial success with his work, but it's his personal projects that drive him as they progress his art. His viral films have screened and won awards at film festivals globally. He likes to say that he is part cinematographer, part ninja. He shoots extremely high resolution video primarily on his Red Dragon, and shoots Time Lapse on complex 3 axis motion-controlled camera robots. His work is dramatic, beautiful, and brings a unique and mesmerizing perspective of nature to Aspen Meditation.

ABOUT THE REWARDS
Can you mix and match? Yes, you can. If there are Rewards you'd like in a certain combination or quantity that are not offered that way, no problem. Send a message by clicking the round photo at the top left of the page, and then "CONTACT ME". Glad to work it out.
Delivery Dates: The Rewards deliveries are approximate, and reflect a delivery date for the film's completion; the calendar will be delivered earlier, in time for you to hang on your wall in January. We are likely to fulfill some of the other Rewards a bit earlier, too.
Making Your "Choices": All "options" involved in any Reward tier (t-shirt size, for example) will be made AFTER the campaign; Kickstarter has a survey form for these selections, which works quite well.
We came to Kickstarter for three reasons: Independence, Truth, and Community. INDEPENDENCE - to make this film correctly and with maximum impact, we feel it is necessary to be independent and not serve any master. TRUTH - this film needs to stay true to its formula - the music, visuals, light, sound and stone-balancing are each of the highest quality, and work together in a most synergistic way. COMMUNITY - those who meditate, those who embrace yoga, and those who do very little to counter daily stress - but know they should - these are communities we seek. What better place for us than Kickstarter?
QUESTIONS If you've got questions, we've got answers. We are pleased to engage and respond. At the top of the page on the left there is a small round photo of Bob - click that, then click CONTACT ME to send a message.

Risks and challenges
Making a film of any length or genre, is a challenge, a substantial endeavor, with many moving parts. Independent film producers have to especially be conscious of budgets and time frames. For this film, we have completed production, and I'm proud to say that we've done this without the slightest compromise to quality. It's taken some time to get it to this point, and I've financed it to date from limited personal funds, thus reducing what is needed for this campaign.
The funds from KS will allow us to complete the editing, and all those post-production elements that ensure the film is special. Our scope of work, time frames, and budgets are reasonable. The entire team has a passion for film making, meditation, and the holistic messages we espouse.
In summary, we say with total confidence - when the Kickstarter campaign succeeds, the film will be made; and all rewards will be delivered fully and on a timely basis.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
