About this project

Once there was this little fairy tale cartoon studio in Hollywood. It's the nineteen sixties  at Hanna-Barbera where seldom was heard an unfunny word and the halls filled with laughter all day... for ten years. This film project is all about those glory days and the team Bill and Joe put together  that rocked the tv cartoon world. On film and photos, art and animation, jokes and cartoons a picture of life inside the cartoon studio emerges. Sorry, no famous  Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters in this one.  It's about Bill, Joe and their animation team, hosted by me, Tony Benedict, who was there at the time with fellow cartoon guy, Jerry Eisenberg.  We were in our early twenties. You know what that's like. Many of these images exist nowhere else on the planet. Restoring vintage film and photos is a tedious but rewarding process just as in character animation. I have been working on this project for several years. It is about one third complete. Surely, this film project deserves a spot in the history of animated television films. THAT'S OUR GOAL!  Production period will require  four to eight months of work. The completed film will be about 25 minutes long.  Tony Milch, Jerry Eisenberg,  Chris Nibley, and Alan Bernhoft  donated their time, energy, skills and talents to make our demo video. A special  page with images, and videos of interest  will be updated regularly for backers to enjoy following the production's progress.  Thanks for checking in.

Risks and challenges

Any film production faces an unending array of obstacles, from booking production houses to losing talent to changing direction along the way. Our core team of seasoned pros, (four of whom were original contributors at Hanna Barbera Studios in its glory days), includes access to in-house recording and production facilities, including animation, voice over, sound mixing, editing, post production, and every other aspect of completing the finished film. There is no substitute for experience in dealing with unexpected obstacles, and no shortage of experience exists with the makers of this film. Between us, we have dozens of successful feature films, shorts and television series under our belts, including numerous collaborations with the likes of Jonathan Winters, Donovan, Ann-Margaret, and many other show business legends. The four members of the core team are also long-standing voting members of The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
