If you don’t know how Kickstarter works, essentially people who back a project financially receive different rewards based on how much they donate (I’ve customized different rewards based on the amount given by a person for my project). The tricky thing with Kickstarter is that you have to raise the TOTAL funds for the project in a limited amount of time (in my case, $9,500 in now less than 30 days) or the project does not get funded at all. Therefore it’s crucial that I raise the total amount as quickly as possible to ensure that I can fund the project. It’s also crucial to reach critical mass on the funds as quickly as I can. If you intend to give towards the project please do so as quickly as you are able, so that I can have an accurate reading of where things are in the process and we can keep momentum going!
The number I arrived at to successfully fund this project takes into account all the tracking/mixing/mastering, as well as paying the musicians I work with, the album art and other graphic design, digital and print distribution, funding of rewards for the backing, and the cut that Kickstarter takes from a funded project. Any additional funds raised will go towards paying my musicians better as well as purchasing some very much needed musical gear that I am currently lacking.
It is a tremendous blessing to be able to do this project in its entirety this affordably.
