Our international chefs are competing between each other, but unlike most competitions, these cooks don’t mind playing dirty! They will try to obtain victory while sabotaging their opponents' efforts by stealing their supplies, swapping ingredients in their ovens or even by adding a nasty ingredient to another recipe. Be the most crooked cook in order to win!
Clean your oven, make room in your pantry. Select a dish and start collecting the ingredients to cook it. All the while trying to raid other players' pantries, introducing trash in their ovens or swapping ingredients between them. Be a nice cook or be a crooked cook, whatever it takes to win.
More rules translations will be available if enough backers from each language support the campaign. Stay tuned.

Meet 'Fat Fry', the 5th crooked cook.
The objective of the game is to score the most points by adding the proper ingredients specified on the dish cards. After 6 rounds, the player with the highest score wins!
There are 5 different types of dish cards. The main deck is placed face-up so you can decide how many cards you want to draw on your turn.
To do so, you may discard any number of cards from your hand and then draw 1, 2 or up to 3 cards from the main deck. You hand size limit is 7.
The main deck includes ingredients, trash and radioactive cards; these cards will help you complete dishes or sabotage other players.
Each player picks an oven mat to place the cards on it. You must try to complete you dish as fast as possible because your opponents will try to swap ingredients or introduce trash in your oven.
Grandma's mystic seasoning might serve as the last ingredient you are searching for.
Radioactive cards are trash cards that can also help you get extra points if used in the proper dish. Otherwise, they will strongly sabotage other players' dishes; just like any other trash card.
In your turn, you can execute 1 of the following actions:
Pantry Raid: take 2 random cards from any opponent's hand; then return one of them and any other card from your hand.
Oven theft: Select any non-radioactive ingredient card in a player's oven and place it in your hand. Then, replace it with another ingredient card from your hand that the dish is missing.
Clean oven: Pick a single card in your oven and place it in your hand. If your oven is full, you may pick another one. (This action cannot be taken if it will cause you to have more than 7 cards in your hand).
After that, you may place up to 3 ingredient cards in your oven (face-up). If your dish is completed, reveal trash cards and score the points. Select another dish card of a different type from those you have already completed in the current game.
The last action in your turn is the one that brings the most joy to your crooked cook soul: Sabotage. Place any trash card from your hand into another player's oven, face-down (as long as it has an empty slot).
After each player has taken their turn, spin the timer to the next round. After 6 rounds, players will follow the rules for scoring what's left in their ovens and total their scores. The player with the most points wins! (Not because of playing clean, though)...

About a hundred games are released on Kickstarter each month. We are also avid backers with our personal accounts. Without Kickstarter many great games would not be in your hands.
Games published by Detestable Games are part of a game design course that occurs at La Caravana Gamelab (Board game café & more). The design stage lasts 5 months, after which, successful projects are elected to continue for the second stage: De-testing.
De-testing lasts 3 months, casual and experienced players try the game and help the designers find critical cases, loopholes, dead-ends, game breakers and other things that can be corrected to offer a tested game and most of all, a product that is fun to play.
Cooks & Crooks is a casual family game and we want every published game to deserve that special spot on your shelf. This would not be possible without the help of avid backers like you, that's why we believe Kickstarter backers should get extra perks.

After manufacture is completed in China, we will ship to our fulfillment partners for each region. Shipping fees are subsidized. Unless you are retailer or making a group pledge, we won't charge any more shipping fees for backers after the campaign ends.
United States: Funagain Games will be in charge of fulfillment in your country.
Mexico: Aether Tower estará a cargo de los envíos en el país. Risks and challenges
OBJECTIVE
As stated in our Seat Wars campaign, production quality we seek, will satisfy even the most exigent gamers. Thick materials, professional printing and a nice feel to the touch is what we seek. Most of all, a fun game with an excellent look.
POLICIES
This is the second board game we are publishing. As before, the team from Aether Tower is working very closely with us to ensure the success of this project's fulfillment. They have already managed and fulfilled several campaigns, including when we Kickstarted our board game cafe in Mexico City.
This will be a transparent campaign, if any issues occur, we will let you know through project updates which will be regularly posted after the campaign is funded. At least once per month.
We are so committed to publish our games with the best quality, that we will put money from our pockets if needed due to any undesired events. Let it be known that the finances for this campaign's fulfillment have already been sorted out, including the subsidized shipping fees which will be respected. We will not ask you for extra funds after the campaign, unless you wish to add extra copies, the 5th player expansion or any other add-on that may come from this campaign. We will use BackerKit to manage the pledges.
The files for the base game are near done and we will be able to start manufacture in the last days of March. We will aim to deliver before what is stated. Backers should answer their surveys before the indicated deadline to expect to receive their rewards at the promised time. Otherwise, their rewards might be sent on a second wave of deliveries or incur in extra charges for shipping.
Manufacture will be held in China and we aim to get top-quality production. If your copy of the game arrives damaged after shipping or has any missing components due to assembly problems, we will send you a replacement for no extra cost. We might ask you to return the other copy.
The extra funds collected will make this game better. We won't limit ourselves in terms of Stretch Goals. As long as the campaign is active we will keep including more and more stretch goals. We really want to make our games worth of having a place in your shelf.
CHALLENGES
Even though we are trying to offer you a flawless campaign, we don't know if this campaign will get enough backers to reach the funding goal. We have a large team (Aether Tower, Detestable Games and the authors of the game) that will work everyday in sharing the project. We would like to ask for your help to spread the word with a friend, a local store, or your social media.
RISKS
Currency exchange is always a risk. As mentioned before, if more money is needed, we will put money from our pockets to complete the fulfillment stage.
Third-party issues happening during manufacture or freight shipping will be treated in a case-by-case basis. We will share with you every progress related to the project.
