A weekend of Necromunda gaming
A weekend of Necromunda gaming
This project will only be funded if it reaches its goal by Wed, September 4 2019 10:28 AM UTC +00:00.
We want to organise a TribeMeet gaming weekend for like-minded fans of Necromunda, both the Community Edition (NCE) and new 2018 edition (N18). This will be the fourth such event we've organised between us, the second one on Kickstarter, and it is gathering momentum. We need to raise cash to pay for the venue and some top-notch resources that the event deserves - professional looking rules packs, and prizes for competitions ranging from best gang to most sporting/fun player. This Kickstarter is to finance the event, allow us to purchase terrain to adorn the tables, and generally extend the reach of the YakTribe community. Without your pledges this can't go ahead, but if this event succeeds with your support, we will be growing it even further in 2021!
Thanks for taking the time to read our campaign. We are massively looking forward to seeing you in Newark in March 2020!
Join fellow Yakkers at the Newark Showground, NG24 2NY, UK on the weekend of 28-29th March 2020 for the YakTribe event of the year. We’ll be playing a bespoke Necromunda campaign using the free Community rules (NCE, OCE) as well as the latest Necrumunda N18 ruleset to play out a gripping campaign devised by the most fiendish minds from the YakTribe, er, tribe. You can play using either rules system within the same overarching story, so everyone in the room will be battling for the same reward.
Join the Tribe!
You must be a member of YakTribe to attend the event. Want to be a member of the number 1 Yak-based Necromunda fandom in the universe? Not a member yet? No problem! Join our vibrant community for FREE using the link below:
Get Your Ticket!
Pledge now and secure your ticket. Your ticket guarantees you entry to the event, which this year will be held at the Newark Showground in the Sir Stewart Goodwin pavilion. We will also have use of the adjoining Sheldon suite, which will be used as a break-out room and we envisage the odd spot of BFG, Frostgrave and/or Nightvault (maybe even Warcry!). The cost of the ticket is £35, that's £17.50/day, and we have the facilities for the entire 48 hours, with gaming continuing into the silly hours if you would like too!
Food is not provided as part of the ticket price, but there are many local eateries nearby. Tea and coffee making facilities will be available at the venue.
STOP THE PRESS! Earlybird offer available!
The first twenty tickets are available for the early bird price of just £30!
We will be producing a digital campaign book for the event, detailing all the background and rules for the campaign. Take a look at the one from the previous event:
STRETCH GOAL ALERT!
If the funding limit reaches £1230, we will produce a fully printed campaign gift pack like the one we made for TribeMeet 2019. Have a look at the unboxing video from last event:
So how are you getting to TribeMeet? There are hotels and B&Bs in the area within walking distance, but why not join the community and camp at the Showground next to the event hall?
Prices and details for camping will be confirmed by Newark Showground nearer to the event. Subscribe to the Newsletter (see below), or follow the YakTribe forum thread to keep informed.
THE STORY CONTINUES
Fury's Rest - Aftermath
The revolt of Fury’s Rest is over. The authorities have fled. The doors are sealed. The population has overcome?
Don’t count on it.
Not ones to let a little thing like a popular revolt slide, the hive authorities have demanded the Guild of Sanitation open the valves... there’s a flood coming.
Food shortages in the sealed dome take hold, violence increases. As the waters begin to creep up, mad tales abound of a lost drilling machine that could drain the dome - or is it the grand tower that brushes the dome roof that offers escape? Crazy babblings about a tribe of mutant rats taking people, and fantastical monsters appearing from the rising sumpwater. It’s time for the quick and the smart to float, climb and fight their way to the top - if not... well, there’s plenty of room for them in Davy Jones’ locker.
Do you have what it takes to survive the flood?
Immerse yourself in high-quality fan fiction and background fluff
FANTASTIC CUSTOM CAMPAIGN RULES!
Along with a deep and imaginative story, there are some custom campaign rules at each TribeMeet event to make it a little bit special. This year, the dome is going to be crawling with monsters flushed out of their hiding places by the ever rising tide of sump-sludge. Meanwhile, speculative gangs have built themselves floating craft to navigate and battle across the seven sludge swamps. Have a look at our beta rules and start building a unique piece to bring!
Check Out Our Beta Rule Sets:
Beta rules are subject to minor changes following FAQ and play-testing, and may currently be unbalanced. Only TribeMeet ticket holders will get the fully play-tested and TribeMeet legal rules presented in their professionally produced rules pack.
THE SECOND ANNUAL GOLDEN YAK AWARDS!
The Golden Yak is a painting competition for all the attendees of TribeMeet - this year the only way you can enter this prestigious event is to get a TribeMeet ticket and bring your minis down. Categories are:
- Best Gang - Enter any game-legal gang from Necromunda NCE or the N18 rule sets.
- Best Monster - Use the monster creation rules (see Beta Rules) to make one of the monstrous denizens of the sump that has been flushed out by the flood.
- Best Hired Gun - Best single hired gun form any official edition of the rules.
- Open Competition - Got something that doesn't fit? Enter it in the open competition, no holds barred, blow us away with your talents!
Rules: Competitors may enter any number of categories, but only once per category. Models must have been painted by the individual entering. Only attendees of TribeMeet may enter. Competitors may use any models/parts from any miniatures range. No nudity or offensive gestures/material please, YakTribe is a family friendly community!
How it works: All entries are to be photographed on the Saturday Morning by 12:00. Entries will be uploaded to the YakTribe website. Votes will be gathered live until 16:00 on Sunday, then the Golden Yak prizes will be announced along with the overall event prizes. There will be a winner for each category, and the overall competition winner will have their name scribed on the coveted Golden Yak Trophy!

THUNDERCUBE!!! rules are currently under revision, there will be some minor alterations and correcting of errata of pit-hazards. These will not affect the overall play so please feel free to dig in and play a few practice games before you arrive. Remember the Golden Rule which will NEVER change: 5 Men enter, 1 Man leaves.
TribeMeet 2019 was a stepping stone into this event. It was the first time we'd used Kickstarter to fund it and it was a massive success. In fact we were fully funded in just 4 hours, and all tickets were sold out in 4 days. This gave us the inspiration to make this year's event even bigger, including the addition of the N18 ruleset. The committee has also expanded to include a campaign arbitrator for these rules! And don't worry; the campaign will cleverly interlink the two rules systems, so that NCE and N18 games will run in parallel towards similar goals.
But hey, don't take our word for it - listen to Tom from the fantastic Chronicles from the Underhive Podcast interviewing committee members and attendees from TribeMeet 2019:
And take a look at the event itself in the pictures below. Bear in mind, TribeMeet 2020 is going to be at least twice the size!

A WORD FROM OUR SPONSORS
We'd like to thank the following organisations for providing us with prizes and scenery for the event. Please click on the links and visit their web stores, they do some amazing stuff!
The organisers aren’t doing this for a profit. All money raised goes towards the hall, terrain, rule packs and prizes. Anything left over is kept for the next event, and even the organising committee pay their ticket price.
In the very unlikely event that anything you bring to the event is stolen or damaged, this includes but is not limited to models and scenery, this is at your own risk. The organisers accept no liability.
WE ARE THE YAKTRIBE!
YakTribe is a tabletop gaming resource and community. Therein you can find info on your favourite miniature and board games, find others playing these games in your area, manage your battles and tournaments, discuss the games on the community forums and even manage your games online.

Risks and challenges
This will be the fourth YakTribe event we have managed as a team, and we’ve learned a little something each time. From the last campaign we learned the lesson of postage costs changing between the campaign starting and the items being ready to deliver. To save the cost to you, we have decided that any physical stretch goals etc will be given out on the day, with the remainder of correspondence and e-tickets etc. being sent by email.
After the previous event we also realised we'd set our sights too small, with the event funding in a few hours and being completely sold out within 4 days. This time we've booked a larger venue to cope with the anticipated demand!
Our main risk is through real-life interruptions! Previous events have had a small team organising the event, with a lot of financial risk and time pressure carried by one or two people. This time the team is larger, with a lot of the financial risk being mitigated through this very campaign! We’ve learned from mistakes of the past and are in a great position to drive this event forward.
