Books, magnets and flash cards arrived today, everything is in good condition, even the posters. I should be seeing my nephew tomorrow, which should hopefully be the first of several confirmations that the books are as amazing as I think they are!

Was a bit of a journey with the communication and shipping issues, but we got there in the end.

Thanks for a wonderful looking end product,

I got the books and magnet set a few days ago, and am loving them. The poster was chewed up some in the post, but the books, magnets, and bookmark fared just fine.

    3. Diana L on November 28, 2012

Hello, I wanted to let you know that I received both my book and magnets. I love them and have been reading the rhymes to anyone who will listen. Thank you!

    4. Lanora Melillo on November 21, 2012

Just wanted to post publicly that my library received both books in excellent condition.

We should be packing up the last of the Monster Alphabet orders tonight. There were about 10 that were misfiled as shipped, plus two that have returned. I'll be sending out email updates to specific backers as we go.

I got an e-mail 2 days ago saying that he found the label and that he'd be getting my order in the mail yesterday (the 15th). I'll post when I get them.

I, too, am waiting. I have paid hundreds of dollars between this project and another. I have a feeling that we will never be getting these items. I have since decided NOT to use Kickstarter anymore because of this HORRIBLE experience. I can't believe that Kickstarter would even LET this kind of Producer use their service anymore. If anyone has Darren's address in Columbia, MD, please let me know because I am local and would be happy to stop by his house and ask about our games.

I too am waiting on my books and magnets "lost in the office". Would there be any way to get these shipped out with better tracking, expedited and better boxes? I have a birthday and Christmas coming up that I was planning on gifting the two books for.

I understand the hiccups that came from the giant order, but when something's "lost in the office" I find that, and the lack of info on how it's getting fixed, to be frustrating.

    9. Lanora Melillo on November 11, 2012

Darren - I am with Matt on this one. My items were to be donated to my local public library and our elementary school which is why I asked you to sign them. What makes no sense to me is that I saw you in June at the ALA in Anaheim, but you said you could not give me my items then because you told me that you were still waiting on sorting through the shipments.. but you were selling them there... I am happy that your project was funded way past your pledge goal and that we - your backers - have given you an opportunity to fly all over the country to market your board book; however, I am upset with you because you will not take five minutes to message me back.

      Hi Darren,

Following your comment last week that anything not yet received is "lost in the post office", are there any plans for replacement shipments to go out to those of us backers that haven't received anything? In particular, it is getting towards the point that even if things get shipped soon, they'll be pushing it for Christmas delivery, and the books would make great gifts.

If it is an option, I would potentially be interested in paying a little extra to have it shipped by some trackable method, to help ensure pre-holiday delivery... and maybe in a box, given some of the previous comments that packages arrived a little dinged up.

Please could you advise if this would be achievable, so we can plan what to do with the books when they do arrive?

Hmmm. I got the notification that my items were shipped on September 15, 2012. The USPS tracking just says it was scanned leaving, but no other scans after that. I am in Calgary, Canada and have not received the package yet. Hopefully soon?

    12. Lanora Melillo on November 5, 2012

Hi Darren - I never got a notification that my items were even being shipped. Was there supposed to be one? Thank you - and - no, I still did not recieve my items.

After a month in the mail, finally received my books + extras this week (Ontario, Canada). They fared pretty well through the shipping process, and the recipient of the gift portion was very excited and happy.

      Hi Darren,

Thanks for the brief update, I look forward to further news on the "final bits of missing rewards", although "lost at the post office" is worrying, since all but one of the items in the order were gifts for family and friends with youngsters.

Oh, and completely understandable about wanting the zombie-themed project to launch before Halloween - a bit a a no-brainer (sorry for the pun, I couldn't resist!).

    15. Darren J. Gendron 6-time creator on October 30, 2012

It was my goal to get all shipments out before the launch of Postumo, which needed to be up and running during Halloween for PR reasons. Unfortunately, a lot of delays got in my way there. I'll be posting an update tonight as we gather up the final bits of missing rewards. Basically, if you haven't gotten your package now, it means it was lost at the post office at some point.

      Hi Darren,

As with some other people, any update on the shipping status would be much appreciated.

I received a notification from on 15th September, but haven't received anything further. The shipment information hasn't updated at all on the tracking website, so all I appear to have is the electonic confirmation that the shipping notification was printed - please could you confirm when the package was physically sent, and what can be done to try and track it down further?

I notice you've just launched another kickstarter project as well this morning - the art looks at least intruguing, but I'm worried about the seeming lack of communication on this project - I messaged you a couple of weeks ago and haven't heard back, and there are a few comments both in this comment thread and in the comments for the last update (the 27th Aug one)... as I say, any news you can give us would be reassuring to those of us still awaiting delivery some 3+ months after some people seemed to start receiving delivery in July.

Hi Darren, I just was wondering if we could get another status update on what all has shipped? I'm still waiting on my $39 pledge + extra book, and it's been over a month since I got the notification from

    18. razamataz on October 21, 2012

Ironically enough the books arrived shortly after I posted my comment. NB I would suggest slightly better packaging as the process of shipping damaged two of the four books.

    19. razamataz on October 20, 2012

Been a while since the last update. Have all of the orders been sent out? Thank you.

    20. Neil Ng on October 16, 2012

I too have yet to receive my books. Don't misunderstand I'm not in any hurry but I do want some assurance that I WILL be getting my books since the update last month mentioned that all $22 backers (I'm one of them) have been sent their books.

Just to qualify my concern. I live in Singapore but almost all my international shipments from game companies and kickstarter projects got to me within 7 - 10 days from ship date. Since its been at least 30 days, I just hope the delivery company didn't drop my shipment into the sea somewhere.

    21. Lanora Melillo on October 14, 2012

Just sent you a message - I also never received my items.

As an indication to people for timings, UK backer here, got the notification of despatch on 15th September, and books arrived today... 3 weeks to cross the ocean isn't too bad.

I know people have been commenting on it, so I took particular attention to the packaging and how things survived - particularly on a longer journey that most.
      - Books - perfect condition
      - Slipcase - a little digned up on the corners, but I've seen more damaged things on-shelf in stores
      - Magnets - a little bent, and the elastic band has slightly creased the front and back magnets (should be able to bend these back into shape with a little time)
      - Bookmark & Postcard - slightly bent, but no real issues
      - Poster - much larger than the other items, so has a few folds where the flimsy packaging has offered no protection for it. Basically looks like most of my posters did after moving house a couple of times

Overall, it looks amazing, I'm sure my nephew will love it!

Thanks again to Darren for putting this project together - the end product has made the delays more than worth it

    23. Darren J. Gendron 6-time creator on October 4, 2012

@Louis - because your Monster Alphabet reward is shipping with your Scurvy Dogs rewards, it's been delayed to when we can get the Scurvy Dogs rewards out. It should be on the move shortly (please follow that Kickstarter's page for updates).

Still don't have my items from this Kickstarter nor the other one Darren had. I am beginning to wonder IF I am going to get my items from him.

Please let me know where this stands.

I got my books a few weeks ago (kept forgetting stop in here). They look great! My daughter is a little young still but she certainly loves the colours.

    32. Christopher Martinez on September 11, 2012

Got mine all the way in the UK took a month for the postie to deliver them, but as with Sami they weren't handled with the care it deserved and the poster was ruined and the boxes to protect the books were all bashed up, but the book mark was in one piece :)

Think some bubble packaging is required if things are to be sent in the post.

      Still loving the book.

      My books arrived today, yay!
The postal system totally manhandled the package and the some of the stuff, most notably the poster and the cases for the books, are beyond rescue. Boo!

But at least the books themselves are fine, and I wasn't exactly waiting for anything else. Still, a shame.

    34. Matthew Leahy on September 3, 2012

      Books received, thanks!

    35. Darren J. Gendron 6-time creator on August 27, 2012

@Jon All $22 backers have had their packages sent out. It's through USPS, so if you set a forwarding address it should get to you. If you don't receive the books in two weeks, drop me a message and I'll hunt it down.

    36. jon bukont on August 24, 2012

Stupid question. I just had to move unexpectedly. Is there any chance I can see if my books already shipped? If they haven't, can I change the shipping address? Thans!

    37. Darren J. Gendron 6-time creator on August 20, 2012

Heyo, we're back from GenCon. When we got reports of damaged books, we stopped all shipments to test the packaging. All shipments will resume today.

    39. Seskimo on August 19, 2012

    40. Dan Malm on August 18, 2012

All you international backers who got your package: How long did it take, and did the shipment status on ever change to anything but "Electronic Notification"

And the book is really nice.

    42. Musictwig on August 7, 2012

I received my book and the extras today. Everything looks awesome. Poster's a little bent, but I think ironing it with steam will take care of that. Guess I was lucky with no damage to my package. :)

Got my book and loved it, thank you! some of the pages were stuck together and had to be ripped apart, but i figured its a board book and my kids would probably have crapped it up anyway. How do I get the digital copy?

Got my $22 package yesterday. Someone at the post office hated me, I guess. There is no way the poster will ever be usable, and everything else (aside from the actual books), including the book covers, is basically trashed.

Zach: Consider it this way. All of the little hiccups that are happening with shipping the lower backers with bent posters, postcards, and such have a better chance of being resolved. with 50x his expected backers (and most likely books) he's done a good job of keeping us informed of what's going on.

    47. Meghann Jaquette on July 27, 2012

I just got my two books today. ($22 backer) Books, covers and bookmark look good. One of the postcard corners is bent a little, but placing it under a heavy book will fix it. Poster is bent and has a few wrinkles. Greg mentioned a piece of cardboard would have helped out. Overall though, I'm happy. When I placed my backing I thought I would only get the books. If you do it again I would use cardboard to save the posters.

I got my book today! ($12 backer) The book looks great and I can't wait to sit down and read it with my son :). Unfortunately we won't get to hang the poster in his room though like I'd hoped. A piece of cardboard or something in the Tyvek shipping envelope probably would've saved it. As it is, it looks like its been crammed under someone's sofa cushion before it found its way to my house. The book cover didn't fare too well either. At least I finally got he book though...

Seriously disappointed that I went in as a $55 backer considering those who paid less get there's much faster than I get mine. Yes, I get the flash cards and magnets, but the fact that we're in the "dead last shipping" seat sucks.

    50. Darren J. Gendron 6-time creator on July 25, 2012

As I've learned so many times from this project, I'm really loathe to give out absolutes on dates and shipping. I can say that a LOT of the $22 level backers are getting shipped out, but they're also traveling out by media mail in the US, which means if the USPS needs to choose between a priority package or a media mail package, the media mail gets put into a waiting list.
