Be the Greatest Huntsman in the Galaxy!
Thanks for taking the time to check out Xenofera.
Xenofera is a strategic, sci-fi based card game where you and your friends compete to build the most valuable collection of xenofera, alien creatures, from across the galaxy.
To win, you'll need to recruit a crew, build cages and then use your crew and cages to capture creatures. Watch out though! Other huntsmen will try to sabotage your expedition. So you must be prepared to battle them, if you are to become the Greatest Huntsman in the Galaxy!
The game supports 2-5 players with a play time of 30-75 mins or roughly 15 mins per player.
And here's me and a group of my friends teaching one of our other friends to play. (Yep, we were nervous at first.)
Risks and challenges
Being a card game, my next challenge is to optimize the cards layout to make all information easy to read across the table while not hiding to much of Jeff Porter's wonderful artwork.
But I see no major problems with this and look forward to sharing my progress with you and getting your feedback. With your help we will have an awesome final product for you to enjoy.
While I am doing everything in my power to plan this project so that it goes smoothly, I realize that the unexpected can happen.
With that in mind, my biggest concern is that the games will be delivered late. This is mainly because there are so many things that impact shipping.
Currently I am planning on having the game ready to send to the manufacturer by the end of February. Based on my best calculation this should give enough time for production, shipment to fulfillment centers, processing at fulfillment centers and shipment to customers for an Aug delivery.
Risk: Artwork is delayed.
Mitigation: I've budgeted in lag time for the delivery of the artwork to mitigate for any unseen delays in Jeff getting all the artwork done.
Risk: Issues in manufacturing.
Mitigation: I'm vetting my manufactures and ensuring they come highly recommended. Should errors occur I will make things right.
Risk: Error in budgeting.
Mitigation: While I'm doing my best to account for all costs, etc. There is a chance that I missed something. If that happens, I will cover it out of pocket. But that may result in delivery being delayed as I save up the funds to cover whatever the unexpected cost is.
