About

        The Path of a Hero takes battles of heroes from such popular games like DotA, Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends to your gaming table. Our mission is to create a comfortable and attractive board game. We believe that playing a game face to face is far superior to playing online.

         The full map has at least 19 elements. Each element is unique and can be placed in 6 different ways. At the beginning of the game, the pieces of the map are shuffled and combined into a single playing field. Thus the number of possible maps is about 25*10^185. Each new battle will occur on a new map that is not similar to the previous ones. 

         Extended versions of the game have even bigger maps, which gives players even more options for combat areas. All versions of our game are compatible with each other, meaning that you can form a huge map for the battle by combining boxes with a friend. In addition, you can use elements of the map to form a battlefield of any shape.

        Each hero has a set of parameters: Life (First number - This is the initial value for a hero of zero level, and the number in brackets shows, how much must be added to the initial value for each level-up of your hero); Damage; Physical armorMagical defenseRadius of physical attack.

       All heroes in "The Path of a Hero" have 4 unique skills. Skills can be used to deal some damage, to slow or stun an enemy, to heal ally or yourself, to impose all sorts of positive or negative effects. During the team game, you can effectively reach your goals by combining skills with your allies.

       Each time when you choose a new hero you create new variations of battle. Players are also free to choose what abilities heroes will learn. So players get even more combinations of our game.

        During the game you can buy items that enhance your hero or give it new abilities. One hero can wear only 6 items. But our crafting system lets players create items of higher level.

        Heroes gain experience and money by fighting with neutral opponents which can be found in each section of the map.  Levels and classes of neutral enemies are various. Besides, the higher the level, the more experience and gold you get for defeating the enemy. 

        Player card is our innovation in the world of board games. This card is convenient to remember all characteristics of your hero, such as: level of your hero, its health, damage, armour and level of magiс defense. These characteristics can be easily changed by one touch of your finger.

        Enemy card keeps characteristics of enemies which you are fighting (all opponents except heroes). It is very convenient, as the battle can take several turns and at the same time you can fight with other players. Your enemy can be a neutral monster, enemy’s building etc.

        “Editor Pack” – is an addition to the game which allows you to expand the game world creating new locations, heroes, enemies and items. You can create any scenario. For example, the goal in your game could be – “free the princess” or “collect 5 elements of an ancient artifact”. The opportunities of "Editor Pack" are so wide that you could make a completely separate game, for example, the heroes of your game could be World War II soldiers or warriors from ancient tribes, or even gods! It all depends on your imagination.

      We came up with many game scenarios in which the map is composed in the form of various shapes, and to win in a variety of scenarios you will be required to perform various tasks.

        For example, condition for the victory can be destruction of all other player’s castles, or you will have to achieve a certain level of your hero or do a certain amount of hero kills. We also invented more interesting victory conditions. So, to win in scenario "Dragon Egg" you need to get a dragon egg and bring it to your castle. When you die dragon egg falls on the place of death, and it can be captured by another player.

        This is our first project and we are trying to reduce all risks. Given the size and weight of our games, shipping outside the U.S. is very expensive. So this time we will be releasing the game only for the U.S. This does not mean that we do not value customers from other countries. We just want to be responsible for our obligations.

Risks and challenges

Here we are taking a very realistic view of how long it will take to produce the game. We are shooting for February 2015 to deliver all the rewards. Once our campaign is finished in June, we will work through July and August to finish all the artwork and prepare files for our manufacturer. After two months of production and two more months of freight shipping to our warehouse we will finally be ready to fulfill orders. We know it is long, but it is a very realistic schedule. We will also communicate with you regularly and honestly about how the production process is going.

Also we would like to mention that since we are still working on balance of our game the final packs may slightly differ from what we have right now. It may effect the amount of heroes in each pack. For example in standard pack instead of 16 heroes you may get 15 or 17.
