We're a production company running out of London, UK who pulled together a load of young filmmakers to make a feature film inspired by Homer's Odyssey. The film, called "The Telemachy", is a journey of self-discovery filmed in both Greece and the UK. One of the aims of the film, aside from sharing a story, was to promote a more positive view of Greece through its recent hardships.
We finished the film and it's ready to be seen, half the battle is done, what we need Kickstarter for is two simple reasons:
1) Help raise awareness of the film.
2) Fund us to pay for submissions to film festivals and other screenings.
Risks and challenges
We can't guarantee the film will sell and distribute across the world, that's the risk with any film. But we can guarantee that with your help the film will get as much chance as we can possibly offer it.
The biggest risk we face is our competition! Thousands of films are made all over the world every year so we have to compete with them for the limited space available in the market. For example if we pay to submit to a film festival, we can in no way guarantee we will be accepted. We have taken our time to select the most appropriate festivals for our film, so we will not waste money applying for festivals that are clearly not for us.
The biggest challenge is over, we have completed the film and it has already screened in Greece, UK, Russia, Spain and is due to screen in New York next month. Your investment will be safe because all the risks of making a film have been overcome- now we will spend your investment solely on trying to distribute it. If you believe in what we have done, please help us.
