ZIP KRAMER: SAVIOR OF THE COSMOS GRAPHIC NOVEL
Co-Created by Marvin Law and Sam Noir.
WHAT IS ZIP KRAMER: SAVIOR OF THE COSMOS?
Zip Kramer: Savior of the Cosmos is an action-comedy space opera. It is pulp-style science fiction with a dash of Hong Kong action movies and Japanese anime, mashed up with an edgy contemporary twist.
Not quite in the tradition of Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers, Zip Kramer is the Galaxy’s worst hero. He continually blunders his way through alien encounters and domestic disturbances. Usually it’s Zip himself, who is disturbing the domestic life of regular average-joe aliens with families and everyday boring jobs.
Then one day he meets Nuone, a hungry orphan girl living on the predatory streets of a backwater planet in the outer rim. Nuone begins to follow Zip on his cosmic misadventures. She’s the heart of the story and functions as his conscience… if he would ever bother to pay attention to her.
WHAT ARE WE FUNDING?
The Zip Kramer: Savior of the Cosmos Graphic Novel, will be a squarebound, paperback collection of previously published Zip Kramer stories, from anthologies such as Monstrosity (published by Alterna), Strange Romance (published by Phantasmic Tales), and his own self published comic books, along with an all-new Zip Kramer story EXCLUSIVE to this volume.
The graphic novel will also include a pin-up section of guests artists, and a gallery of artist Marvin Law’s designs for the series. Monstrosity editor Phil McClorey will also be providing an introduction. It will be black and white interiors, with colour cover and is approximately 80 pages.
We've set an extremely modest goal of $700, which will cover our printing costs. If we exceed this goal, money will go to Marvin Law for his hard work drawing this graphic novel, and for more copies of the book.
We are offering reward levels for all budgets, from a $1 digital samper story, digital and print editions of the Zip Kramer Graphic Novel Collection, original art, and even an opportunity to appear as a major villain or space-pirate in the book.

WHO ARE WE?
We are the creative team of artist Marvin Law, and writer Sam Noir. We are equal partners in this creator owned comic book series.
Marvin Law is a comic book creator, born and raised in Toronto, ON. He’s been a life long fan of comic books, when he first discovered them as a small boy at 4 years old, which coincided with his desire to draw at the same time; so that can’t be a coincidence. Through pure stubbornness and just plain being lucky, Marvin entered into the Toronto comic book scene, and has never looked back, having his pin up pieces published in, Kill Shakespeare Vol. 1: Sea of Troubles (IDW Publishing); Skullkickers #10 (Image Comics); The Stan Sakai Project (Dark Horse Comics); and Bitch Planet#5 (Image Comics). More recently, he’s seen more of his sequential work being published in various anthologies, like Monstrosity volumes 1 & 2, Strange Romance volume 2, along with his creator owned Kronk, the Neanderthal with writer Phil McClorey.
Sam Noir is a writer, cartoonist, and toymaker. His work includes the cover for Chapterhouse Comics Summer Special featuring Captain Canuck and the Pitiful Human Lizard, and he has contributed to Steampunk Originals from Arcana, Monstrosity from Alterna, Cerebus Low Society, Toronto Comics, Strange Romance, Hogtown Horror and is the co-creator of indie comics such as Munchsters, Victorian Four, Holmes vs Moriarty, Zip Kramer, and Major North. His web comic Sunny and Owl Girl is featured on the geek culture website Rogues Portal. He is also a product developer at Odeon Toys, including the official Captain Canuck action figures.

Risks and challenges
Since this Graphic Novel mostly comprised of comics and design work that already exist, this project has a lower risk than other Kickstarter funded graphic novels that are asking for money to fund content creation from scratch.
The exclusive-to-this-volume NEW Zip Kramer story is already well underway, having been fully scripted by Sam Noir and fully laid-out by Marvin Law at the time of our Kickstarter launch (we'll share the progress of the artwork as updates during the campaign). Those who know how dedicated Marvin Law is, have seen him produce artwork practically every single day he is able to. With that said, there are the usual production hiccups that might come along with any endeavour. Barring any health issues, accidents, or computer problems that might come up, we are very confident in our ability to get this graphic novel into your hands. Marvin and Sam have a solid track record in making and most importantly FINISHING comics. However, in the event that “Life Happens”, we’ve come up with contingency plans should anything occur to the creative team.
We also have a killer line-up of awesome folks who have stepped up to offer to do pin-ups for us. However, we understand how busy these extremely talented and in-demand artists are and the roster may shift depending on scheduling. The graphic novel will go to press in May/June based on whichever bonus pin-up work we have in hand. We are dedicated to our release date.
Outside vendor fulfillment can also be a risk for getting our product into your hands, and choosing the right ones are key. We have a reliable printer lined up that we have ordered comics from previously, and are happy with the quality of their product. Our printer understands our needs, because they are comics creators/publishers themselves. Should any issue arise with our printer of choice, we have previously established relationships with other printers who have also delivered us reliable and quality product in the past.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
