The Dooms Chapel Horror is our dream. For some of us it is our first feature film, for others; another opportunity to work with like-minded artists and produce something that we are fans of ourselves. Something the regular, working-class film nuts want to see. It's the horror film we all hope for when a word leaks online of something new or when on the ride home from the theater after seeing a film it's what we imagine could have been. It's a mix of psychological horror and creature feature. It's what children of the 70's and 80's remember waiting for at the video store and what the generation today needs to see.
Nine months ago we said this film will happen. For the past 6 months and now, this film is happening. We've completed 95% of production and have secured a completion grant for post production. We have agreements in the place and more in the works for distribution. We are counting on you to be a part of it and help push us through to the final stages and ultimately to completion.
Risks and challenges
Filmmaking is a complex melding of multiple art forms. Music, photography, performance, each dependent on the other and all requiring team members to perform at high levels individually and together.
Filmmaking is a complex business type. Multiple schedules, budgets, employees, departments, each with their own assortment of forms and files and requirements that demand constant attention and tweaking.
Filmmaking is a... Are you beginning to see the pattern? In order to produce one second of image on screen, 24 frames in old school talk, dozens of hours of prep time and in many cases, hundreds or thousands of dollars are spent.
It takes a dream to start, blood and sweat to continue and passion to finish. Thankfully our team, as a whole, has all of that. Each of us have been dependent and carried by the others at one point. And now we are in the home stretch and are depending on the fans and the dreamers who want to see something new.
We have a majority of the funding goal reached with a completion grant set to kick in after all filming is complete. Your donation will allow us to finish all photography and secure our completion grant. We are confident that our post production plan is easily obtainable with the grant.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
