Match and Magic is a puzzle role playing game. You will fight creatures with unique abilities, gain powerful spells and items, and complete challenging quests on your journey. You can use your special powers to control the direction that the gems fall in this match-3 game, which will be key in your survival and ability to complete several quests at once. This game will be released on PC and iPad.

How it all started
This project was originally born from a combination of factors. I played a good amount of puzzle quest which I really enjoyed and I watched my mom, wife, and daughter play bejeweled several times. I started to notice what they liked and didn't like about the game and then the idea for Match and Magic hit me.
After a few months I had a pretty good version of the game up and working but I didn't have any art. I searched for artists for a while. I thought it would be easy to get an artist but I couldn't be any more wrong. Eventually I stumbled upon a great set of artists an we started to put some real detail into game world.
We eventually started to let people play it and the feedback was pleasantly surprising. People of all ages groups really enjoyed playing the game. That really fueled and motivated us every day. We can't wait to release it to world very soon so more people can enjoy it but first we need your help.
Why this game and why us?
We feel that we can create a game like Puzzle Quest but with much more depth, strategy, and story. We want the player to actually play the campaign portion of the game on top of the core combat piece versus just clicking from location to location on a generic map.
With a card mechanism it allows us to expand in tons of ways. The cards also make it easy to go between the campaign world and the core combat/adventure mode. To provide a little hint the game board can scale to whatever amount of tiles that we choose. I've actually played a 500x500 tile game of bejeweled, talk about combos. There are just so many ways that I think people will be amazed at what we can come up with and deliver.
The team that is working on this is so passionate about this game. The artist is not just a guy drawing awesome cards, he's also providing input on gameplay because he wants to make it really fun for people. We know this sounds like everyone else but it's true. This project is all about the passion for making fun games in new ways.
Why we are here
I met a great set of artists, Geoff and Becca Mellon, who I want to hold onto dearly. They have been trying to work freelance after working at game studios for several years. I really can't say enough about them and if you ever found the perfect people to work with you'll really understand where I'm coming from.
Right now we are very close to finishing but we still have some remaining art work ahead of us and that is where we are hoping this Kickstarter campaign can help us out. All of the money from this kickstarter campaign will go towards the art.

There are no time limits or restrictions on this demo, you basically have access to an early build of the game. We are working hard on developing new adventure cards which include traps, quests, NPCs, and creatures. Here are samples of a couple of the cards.
I created a video so that people could get a more in-depth look at how the game works.
The barbarian king is one of the enemies you will fight. He can deal a good amount of damage and call in reinforcements.
Forge is one of our cards where you can make equipment. First you select what type of item you would like to make then you will need to follow two parts of a recipe.
What is cool about the cards is that you could be making an item and fighting an enemy like the barbarian king at the same time. You could even be on a quest. Your will have to strategize to stay alive.
Another really cool part of the game is the compass. This will let you decide which way the tiles slide. This incredible amount of control is unique and key to surviving. You would be surprised how you can start to create big combos and matches from sliding tiles in all directions.

PC and iPad for sure. Mac will most likely happen if people want it.
If I can give out free copies on the app store I will give both versions away for 10 dollars. If we release on other platforms you will get those also for one price.
I hope so. I have not submitted it to them yet but will do so after we finish the graphics that this funding will allow us to finish up.
To be honest I never thought of doing it. If we get extra funding, I'm not sure how much at this point, then I will look into doing a port. I would love to get on the humble bundle so this could happen.
We are still working on porting to the iPad and the adventure cards which are key to gameplay and are not fully implemented. Also due to the developer system I could only release up to around 90ish accounts as demos (100 is the apple limit but I need to keep some around for our development). The early ipad access is one of reward tiers due to limited space. When we provide access to it in May it will be pretty close to the PC version from a functional standpoint.
