The Story of OXX
After years as lead designer at the world’s largest home appliance maker, the founder of OXX was determined to build a company for people the appliance giants didn’t care about. OXX is committed to building innovative products for people who work and play outdoors. The COFFEEBOXX™ is the first giant step toward that goal.
Collectively our team has designed and launched dozens of successful products in our careers from washers and dryers, refrigerators and blenders to cordless drills, saws, lawn mowers and more. You may have some of the products we've designed in your kitchen or garage today.
What makes the COFFEEBOXX™ Beyond Rugged.
Brew without boundaries: The COFFEEBOXX™ is compact and ultra-portable. It weighs 11lbs with a sturdy handle so it’s always ready to grab and go.
Ditch the Gas Station Coffee: The COFFEEBOXX™ is compatible with any K-Cup® style pod. So grab a pocket full of your favorite pods and you’re set to take on the day.
Ridiculously Strong: We don’t just call it the toughest coffee maker in the world. We can prove it. Our engineers spent countless hours developing a crush-proof chassis, rugged enough to park a car on.
No Mess Cord: We’ve added a 3ft retractable heavy-duty cord. So don’t worry about getting tangled up while you’re on the move.
Dustproof & Waterproof: Everything is sealed to IP55 standards to keep dust and water out. That includes large rubber buttons designed for man-sized hands – with or without gloves.
Go Big, or Not: With three brewing size options (8, 10 and 12oz), the COFFEEBOXX™ also has a removable drip tray that pops out to make room for your king-size mug.
Keep it Tied Down: Use the stainless steel external tie-downs to keep your COFFEEBOXX™ snug and secure on long hauls or rough rides.
Fill ‘er Up for the Day: With the largest (2.5L / 84.5oz) capacity removable water tank on the market, you’ll never run out of hot coffee when it counts. It’s spill-proof to prevent leaks during transport—even stored on its side.
More than Just Coffee: Equipped with a separate on-demand hot water system, the COFFEEBOXX™ gives you clean piping hot water. No coffee residue like other home machines out there. Make a bowl of oatmeal or ramen, or brew your own tea bag or instant coffee.

Beyond Rugged isn’t just something we say—it’s what we hold ourselves accountable to every day. We stand behind every product we make, without question. If you are not satisfied with an OXX product when you receive it, or if it doesn’t perform to your satisfaction, you may return it to us for repair, replacement or a refund. Natural wear and tear due to hours of use and hard work will be repaired or replaced at a reasonable rate. Damage determined to be caused by abusive handling will piss us off, but will also be repaired or replaced at a reasonable rate.

The game plan.
After three years of merciless design, testing and certifications, the COFFEEBOXX™ is ready to bring to the world. With your support, we can finalize production and packaging and get the COFFEEBOXX™ and all the extras into funders’ hands by March 2015. This is the beginning of something great. Your support will help us keep building Beyond Rugged™ for people who work and play hard—and who demand products that do the same. Join us.
Risques et défis
OXX is currently partnered with the largest coffee maker manufacturer in the world. All of our molds are complete and the assembly line is set up. We have minor tooling tweaks to complete to make the COFFEEBOXX™ perfect before releasing for mass production.
All testing is wrapping up. This includes life cycle testing and all industry certifications. We subjected the COFFEEBOXX™ to additional OXX performance testing which is way beyond anything industry standard.
For our accessories we're working with a handful of quality suppliers. Our intent is to ship our package deals (i.e. The Tailgater) where the COFFEEBOXX™ comes with an accessory at the same time. Initial inventory may arrive to our warehouse on different schedules so we may have to ship items in the package deal separately.
Fulfillment
We will be drop shipping all Kickstarter orders from our warehouse near our headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Yes, we are Michiganders. Shipments will be sent to any address in the contiguous US via UPS ground. Only US orders will be accepted.
