UPDATE #6: The Legend of Bulba - now included in main goal!
Bulb Boy will be a 2D point & click horror adventure about a boy with a glowing head (alright, it's a bulb...) inspired by Machinarium and Gobliiins. Solve awesome puzzles, defeat wicked monsters and learn new abilities to reveal the twisted tale. Ohhh... And don't forget to save your GRANDPAraffin and Mothdog from the frightening darkness.
Bulb's talents - Being a boy that is a bulb comes with many talents. Not only does your head light up, emits heat and electrical shocks, but can also be unscrewed for use in other places.
Save your house - Explore the Bulb's house, overshadowed by dark forces. Defeat the evil in all its forms and bring the light back.
Playable flashbacks - Relive Bulb Boy’s childhood memories to uncover the history of the old family house and its residents.
Defeat the monsters - The house is split up into sections, representing chapters of the story. Be careful as the house is full of frightering monsters. And don't forget to use a little trickery to defeat bosses.
Eerie design - The graphics combine the elements of a likeable and emotional character with an eerie-horror backdrop.
The game will be released on Mac, PC, Linux (DRM-Free) and eventually iOS and Android.

We are Szymon, Artur and Bartosz. We created this short demo of Bulb Boy and need your help to turn it into a full game!
In the Electric Forest, lived a boy with a glowing head who was called Bulb Boy. He grew up in a big old house with his GRANDPAraffin and Mothdog. It was a time of fun, friendship and love.
One gloomy night, Bulb wakes suddenly from a frightening nightmare to discover that darkness has overshadowed the old family house. GRANDPAraffin and Mothdog have disappeared… Are they ok?
The main characters are a tight-knit family. The boy likes to play on his mobile console under the bedsheets. Mothdog is mesmerized by light bulbs, so much so he finds himself walking straight into them. GRANDPAraffin tends to nap very often, falling asleep suddenly at random times and places.
A Snotty Bunny - Bulb Boy’s favorite plush bunny becomes unrecognizable. It's snot manifests itself into different shapes and forms and becomes deadly. Handkerchiefs won’t help you here.
A Headless Chicken awaits your arrival in the family kitchen. It can choke the life out of you using its headless neck and can sense light, so you better hide!
Flesh-eating Moths live in the ceiling cracks and are attracted to bright light. They attack in hordes for the delicate taste of fresh and juicy meat.

Bulb Boy is a point & click adventure. This old-school mechanic relies on using the cursor (or touch - for mobile devices). Point and click to explore scenes and to interact with objects. Find, collect and use different items to solve the puzzles. With Bulb Boy we want to refresh this genre and offer a new aspect to this mechanic. The main character, Bulb will learn skills that will give players a new approach when solving puzzles. He will be able to change his body, tossing his head into other bulb holders, as well as using heat and electric shocks to defend and attack enemies. The game will include reflex elements when battling head to head with the freakiest monsters.
Bulb Boy's storyline and gameplay is divided up into chapters, each protected by a monstrous boss. The standard version of the game consists of 4 chapters but if second streach goal is achieved we will look to add a 5th chapter to the story.
Bulb's mansion at first glance may apper small but in reality it has many, many rooms. Each chapter will contain about 5 different areas and 15 mini locations - taking about 1 hour each to complete. Remember that there are also playable flashbacks from the memories of our protagonist... (not mentioning games on cartdridges).
The idea behind Bulb Boy is to create a heart gripping horror story with a creepy feel. Our aim is to produce fluid gameplay based on puzzle-solving mechanics without the addition of senseless riddles.
Bulb Boy is an independent project that evolved from a common passion. For the last couple of months we have been working overtime to create the best possible demo as well as preparing for our Kickstarter campaign.
The quality that we want to achieve takes time and a lot of work. Therefore, to finish the full version of the game in a reasonable time-frame we have to work full time for over a year and this is why we need your help to support our budget.
To achieve the best gameplay experience we will be iteratively tweaking each element of the game. It's a time consuming process and an extra set of hands for work will be welcomed. When we reach a higher goal it will be possible to employee an additional developer to help polish the gameplay.
We need your help - not only to raise funds but also to motivate, inspire and share your positive energy with us through the kickstarter initiative. This is a one of a kind opportunity to help us bring Bulb Boy to life.
Each Stretch Goal gives something additional to our Backers. With a greater amount of funds we will be able to deliver a longer, more polished and better looking game.
Additional chapter - An extra floor will be added to increase the length of the game. Expect more monsters, more eerily designed rooms and an extra boss.
Additional sounds - Every move that bulb makes will have a unique sound allowing the player to become even more captured by the hair-raising atmosphere.
Collectible cartridges - Collect cartridges to play freaky versions of oldschool games (e.g. 'BUGtris', 'The Legend of Bulba'). Something for maniacs of retro gaming.
Additional in-game animations - We will add more animated reactions of Bulb Boy and more spectacular deeds of evil. Expect even more animations for characters, monsters and environmental objects.
iOS and Android versions - When $80k stretch goal will be reached every Backer will be eligible to receive a mobile version (either iOS or Android) of the game as a digital gift code. These versions will be available a few months after the PC/Mac/Linux premiere.
LED challenge - Find LEDs scattered around the house and build a screen which will unveil an animated movie about the Bulb family's dark secret.

Art book - High quality printed art book with concept art. Planned format is 7.48in x 5.3in.
Your name in the credits - Your name will be placed in the hall of Bulb Backers in the game's credits.
Signed original concept art - You will receive an exclusively signed and framed concept art from the game (taken from Szymon's sketchbook). You will be able to choose from tens of sketches. Planned format is 7.48in x 5.3in.
Personalized mp3 soundtrack - Send us your music preferences, sound of your voice, sounds of your home pet or whatever you like. Bartosz will mix it into the soundtrack and you will receive the game with your custom music.
Co-design one room - You will co-work with us in designing one of the rooms. Let your freaky ideas come to life and scare other players with your imagination.

We are small team of three guys supported by our family and friends who are helping us with this campaign. We have been gamers since the late 80s and believe that point'n'click adventures can still be impressive in the same way we were impressed many years ago.
Artur Mikołajczyk Programmer (co-founder) Over six years of experience in the gaming industry as a gameplay programmer for PC/3DS/Wii/PSN. In 2014 founded OjtamGames, an indie developer studio. XBOX owner and Amiga adorer. In his free time he enjoys searching for great indie games and playing the guitar... usually both at the same time.
Art Director (co-founder) graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts (specializing in animation) in Krakow in 2008. During the past 10 years he has been worked as a professional animator. His portfolio includes global campaigns for Capgemini and Amway as well as polish clients (IKEA, MAN and Best Western). Gamer, Wii U owner, educated in art and animation. He spends time after work in his Four Flies studio with Bulb Boy. Inspired by 80s horrors and Junji Ito manga.
Bartosz Gajdarski Sound Designer (core team) Age 7 - loved Donkey Kong character die melody. Age 12 - wrote his very first love letter listening to C64 game music. Age 16 - almost cried during Another World ending. Today - runs game SFX & music studio - SoundIT, vocalist, composer who sees the world with his ears.
We are also supported by our friends and family. Szymon's cats are testing the game between sleeping and basking in the sun...
Risks and challenges
We hope you like what you have seen so far.
Our goal is to make an exceptional game with quality design, fluent gameplay and a twisted storyline. It will be a great challenge to achieve all three elements.
We are an experienced and well organized small team that have completed many projects prior to Bulb Boy and know how to design and manage a work process to maximize results.
When developing a game you need to be prepared for all the risks that are involved. The main risk is to not complete the game on time and as a consequence exhaust the budget. In this and all other cases, we are ready to allocate 120% of our time and resources to deliver what we came here to do.

We are going to make the game in Unity 3D and there is a possibility to release it on all main platforms. But we need to reach higher stretch goals to be able to achieve this. We are thinking about platforms such as: Mac, Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, Windows Phone 8, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox 360 and maybe in future PS4 and Xbox One :-) We are already under consideration for Wii U.
