This is the sequel to the Make 100 American Art Stamp Albums that was successfully funded in February which included 40 United States stamps depicting paintings by 30 American artists. In this new project we have 32 French jumbo size stamps of paintings by 32 French artists. Help me finish this book.
The French artists include: the prehistoric Lascaux cave painters, Jean Clouet, George de la Tour, Louis le Nain, Jean-Antoine Watteau, Francois Boucher, Jean-Honore Fragonard, Jacques-Louis David, Jean Auguste Ingres, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Honore Daumier, Jean-Francois Millet, Edouard Manet, Edgar Degas, Paul Cezanne, Alfred Sisley, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Henri Rousseau, Paul Gauguin, Georges Seurat, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Georges Rouault, Maurice de Vlaminck, Raoul Dufy, Andre Derain, Maurice Utrillo, Roger de la Fresnaye, Marc Chagall, Edouard Pignon, Yves Brayer, and Bernard Buffet. (I am not able to add the proper French accents in Kickstarter but they will be there in the book)
There is also a tribute to Vincent Van Gogh, who although not French, did many of his best paintings in the south of France at the end of his life.
We are offering two versions of this book. The first is the Limited Edition of one hundred books with all of the stamps mounted carefully by the author, signed by the author, and numbered 1 of 100, 2 of 100 etc. to 100 of 100. The Limited Edition book is $45 plus shipping. The books will be shipped in the order of your backer number, so pledge early. There is also a limit of two Limited Edition books per person.
All of the French art stamps are the same jumbo size, 2 inches by 1 5/8 inches, in either a landscape or portrait orientation. The French stamps date from 1961 to 1989 and were selected for their beauty, and the reputation of the artist in the history of French art. The stamps were expensive and it was hard to obtain 100 copies of each. I purchased the stamps over a period of nine months from dealers in France, Switzerland, Italy, Canada and the UK. The Limited Edition will not be reprinted and there will only be one hundred copies in existence.
Here are examples of the detail and quality of printing done by the French with their art stamps starting with Mark Chagall's stamp from 1963, the Manet stamp from 1962, and the Pignon stamp from 1981.
A tribute to Vincent Van Gogh's time in southern France will be included along with the 32 French artists. There will be a Dutch self adhesive stamp of a self portrait of Van Gogh, issued in 2003, in every book. There will also be the Van Gogh's Church at Auvers Sur Oise French stamp from 1979 mounted in every Limited Edition book.
The other version of the stamp album is the Basic Stamp Album for $18 plus shipping. It will have a yellow cover and its own ISBN. You receive the spiral book of 140 pages with the first stamp, of the Lascaux Cave Paintings, mounted (and the Dutch stamp) and spaces for the other stamps to be filled in. These stamps can be obtained on eBay or at stamp shows. This version is for stamp collectors or those just interested in the stories of the artists.

Risks and challenges
I have completed successful nonfiction book Kickstarter projects in the past few years using the same book printer. I do not expect any problems or delays in the distribution of these books. It does take some time to mount the stamps in the Limited Edition books. I will prepare and ship them in the order that you pledge.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
