Whether we realize it or not, we are all being influenced by creatives everyday. The reality is, these unique individuals are creating the world that our kids, grandkids and great-grandkids will live in. Someone will occupy these spaces of influence, period. Our future mothers, fathers, governmental leaders, teachers, and more are inevitably having their values shaped by the songs, movies, shows, books, etc. they are taking in today. I've been dreaming of creating an album that would lead other creatives into the weight and responsibility of this reality! Would you partner with me?
I'm excited to partner with you to fund my second full-length album, Soul Anthems. As an independent artist, I take great joy in the opportunity to link arms with supporters from all over the world to accomplish a goal like this. In other words, all of my friends (meaning, you) become my record label. As my record label, we get to journey together through a beautiful creative process - making an album together! This album will be filled with some of my most raw and vulnerable songs to date—songs from the soul and songs for the soul—written all throughout the last decade of life. Over the past two years, I've also managed to connect with two phenomenal producers that I'll be working with on the project. They are extremely talented, able to bring my desired "sound" to life and understand my heart and vision for music. I'm extremely excited to explore this new space with these producers. One of the unique characteristics of this project is the desire to see other creatives equipped and empowered to bring Heaven to Earth through their creative expressions. From the rewards to the actual album, we've layered resources and training into the entire project that have been designed to serve creatives who have the same heart - creatives who dream of doing an album or project like this one day.
At the beginning of this year, I was bothered by how many songs I'd written over the years that I'd kept to myself. I value slow-cooked songs—it actually makes space for creative innovation. However, creative innovation wasn't the issue. At the core, it was actually a mountain-high pile-up of disappointment in the industry and a lack of resources (studio, producers, finances, etc.). The truth is, for a few years, I began to question my future in music. Conversations with record labels had shut down just as quickly as they had opened up. I couldn't seem to find a producer that could make the sound of my heart into a reality. Then, I moved clear across the country, away from all of the relationships I'd built in music on the east coast and away from the only band that I ever loved (shoutout to the Philly squad). Things just didn't seem to be adding up. I wondered if I was turning the page to more of a long-term season of equipping creatives with no music in sight. Right around that time, someone let me borrow a mic to lay down vocals for a small project. After completing that project, something came alive in me. I wrote and produced several songs in a row on my makeshift GarageBand set-up in my little apartment. God used this spark of unexpected inspiration to remind me that He wasn't done with me in music. He also wasn't done with using my creative journey to equip and empower other creatives'. In fact, we're just getting started.
I started my musical journey nearly a decade ago. Many of you were with me for that leg of the journey and even supported the first Kickstarter I did in Summer 2013. Together, we successfully raised $20,000 in 30 days. We funded my first full-length album and a national tour! What a flashback! I was living in little, quaint Grove City, PA doing life with an incredible group of people, with a little fro and picky appetite. I had just graduated college with a degree in Corporate Communication, but couldn't stop dreaming about making music that would impact people in a deep way. It's amazing how much things have changed over the last decade. Now, I'm based in Fort Worth, TX working for an incredible church as the Worship and Creative Arts Director. I even have some pretty cool dreadlocks now and have warmed up a little to Tex-Mex cuisine. There's one thing that hasn't changed though: I'm still passionate about making music that impacts people in a deep way. In fact, I'm arguably more passionate about it and have grown in my understanding that true impact can only come by way of Jesus. In fact, Jesus is the greatest storyteller that ever lived–He is Creator. So, when we give Him our creative gift, He uses it to tell stories that lead the lives of the people around us into Truth. For the last few years, it has been my joy to work with other creatives, challenging and equipping them to step out into this creative freedom. I'm excited to use this Kickstarter to further this mission!

“Jasmine Tate is the one of the most inspired people I have ever known. I’ve never met someone who is in such constant pursuit of God and his heart. Her art is pure and powerful. It’s almost like her songs spent a second in another realm and when you listen you feel the pull of that place.“ - Joel Ansett, based in Denver, CO (Singer-Songwriter)
"Ms. Tate is no doubt driven by the purpose to influence the heart of humanity with the strength of love through her music. Watching her grow as an artist over the years, I can personally attest that her drive is relentless, her stage presence is as powerful as her voice and her mission is clear." - Crystal Lee Morgan, based in Pittsburg, PA (Singer-Songwriter)
“Jasmine has been sooo instrumental in helping me navigate what it looks like to be a Christian creative, by intentional conversation/advice of course, but even more so through just being a living example. By watching and listening to her, one of the most revolutionary & liberating things I’ve learned is that my gift and calling can transcend church environments. I don’t have to wait until people come into a church setting in order for them to be impacted by my music or artwork, but I can actually create work that I can take with me into what we call 'secular' spaces and bring Jesus to people who may never come to my church. Adapting this new perspective has made me so much more excited about these gifts God has given me, and its given more meaning to the idea of 'being on assignment'. I feel the challenge to create with intention and with a 'missional' mindset." - Francesca Miller, based in Columbus, OH (Visual Artist + Singer-Songwriter)
"I have known Jasmine both personally and professionally, and can say that she is a true talent that brings a raw, passionate, and honest approach to music that is incredibly refreshing. Having played music regionally for years I have yet to run into someone like Jasmine. She is truly a one of a kind talent!” - Johnny McHue, based in Cincinnati, OH (Worship Leader)
"The tools she has given are facilitating the creativity in me to flourish in freedom, and with focus. What I have learned through Jasmine Tate is more than I expected and is empowering me to thrive in life and as an artist." - Alyssa Halcombe, based in Fort Worth, TX (Visual Artist)
"Most people think that Jasmine Tate's most remarkable gift is her voice, but those who know her beyond the platform recognize that her character immensely outweighs the captivating songs she produces. Jasmine is more than a speaker, singer, and song-writer, she is a spiritual architect and prophetic voice to her generation." - Canita Brent, based in Philadelphia, PA (International Speaker + Public Health Specialist)

Risks and challenges
My first Kickstarter taught me so much about risks and challenges. With that being said, in general, I'm more prepared this time around for the unthinkable. Here are a couple challenges to consider:
1. The overall production of the album could take longer than expected, due to changing schedules amongst the producers, musicians, engineers, etc.. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated and involved in every step along the way.
2. For the coaching rewards, I will be giving dates based on my availability. Unfortunately, my availability might not be the best fit for others within this rewards tier. I will be intentional to select a date well in advance, so everyone can plan accordingly.
The final thing to consider is the overall risk of the project itself. To be honest, it's a pretty vulnerable and scary experience. Kickstarter is all or nothing - we make the goal or we end at zero... zilch... nada. No one likes the word zilch though. It's awkward. So let's do this thing.
I appreciate you!
