About this project
A few years back my son became very ill and had to have a very long and complicated surgery. In order to keep from losing my mind in the waiting room, I brought along a drawing pad and a set of colored pencils. As I doodled flowers in different shapes and colors, "I'm planting a garden said Symphony Jones, far from my troubles, close to my home." kept running through my head. In the next few days hanging around in the hospital, I finished this poem.
I'm am now in the process of finishing the artwork in acrylics and planning on completing 15 paintings to illustrate the poem. So far I have 9 paintings finished. For those of you who don't know me, the ants you see in every painting are a part of my signature. I'm always looking for new things for them to be doing, so if you have any suggestions, please feel free to send them my way.
Below is a little sample of "Symphony Jones".
I am on pace to be finished with the illustrations by the end of August, when the Kickstarter campaign ends. The goal is to get the book printed before the end of September, but I set the delivery for October.
What I'm spending the money on:
Artwork - Supplies (Canvases, paint, brushes)
DVD's - Media, cases, shipping envelopes
Video - editing, post production, duplication
Audio - studio time to record the soundtrack
Soft Cover Books - Printing, layout, shipping
Although this is a completely separate venture, I work in a family-owned video production company, so recording the original ditty (the Symphony Song) that I wrote (it's mostly instrumental) and putting together the video book, will be no problem.
