We’re raising money to produce a unique pattern making system that is a paradigm shift from traditional dressmaking techniques. The Extreme and Mean system (E&M) is a constructional evolution, uniting man and nature. Through the application of the Golden Ratio, we are constructing a set of measuring and tracing tools to serve as the foundation for all of our creations. Our current NotEqual Fall/Winter 2013 collection has been created based on the E&M System, and we’re exploring fresh approaches in the application of this system in further designs. The raised funds will support the development of presentation prototypes along with our upcoming NotEqual Spring/Summer 2014 collection. The funds will also guarantee NotEqual its first New York runway show in September.
The Golden Ratio is a comparison of any two aspects that leads us to proportion them in an ideal way. Also referred to as the Divine Proportion, Golden Proportion, Golden Mean and Golden Section, it is truly unique in its mathematical properties and pervasive in its appearance throughout nature. We want to apply the same ratio to create genderless proportions that are pleasing, harmonious, and appealing. We’re striving for the same organic perfection that is seen in nature, which finds its fullest realization in the human form. Our goal is to design with the difference in mean between male and female.

About our brand.
NotEqual explores creative innovation through fashion. Our artisanal and classical garments challenge traditional tailoring; each piece is individually draped and detailed to bring out the unique and the beautiful. NotEqual channels the sublime through organic creations; our clothing is unconventional. We defy principles of calculation and measurement by constructing pieces that are truly brought to life only when the fabric meets the skin. We challenge common concepts of identity through questioning gender, culture, and modernity. Our mission is to encourage authentic expression through fashion.
What we are doing now.
We are concurrently cultivating NotEqual’s creative backbone as we move towards our goal. NotEqual continues to collaborate on multiple projects adhering to the same philosophy. We are in process of an artist residency at Yale, Ecologic Vibrancy Project, a fashion radio podcast, and a fair trade lingerie line.
We want to bring innovation to local market as we don’t believe in a mass produced product or one intended to be consumed by a mass market. We proudly stand in opposition. All of the rewards are made by us, made by our own hands. A tradition that we'll never let go.

Funding our project.
funding goal will ensure the development and growth of NotEqual and
will allow us to immerse in our designs and the E&M System.
Part of the raised funds will be apportioned to the E&M system. It will enable us to test and refine the functionality of our designs and to make it possible to test the performance of various materials. We’ll work with product designers and engineers to evaluate our templates and to create a rapid prototype of our tools.
Further to the support of our system, the funds will be used to produce our Spring/Summer 2014 collection. There are basic needs to work with both objectives: a studio space, fabric, materials, outsourcing design work and sampling.
A proportion of the funds will showcase our collection in September 2013. Ultimately, we’ll need a venue, models, hair and makeup.
To put all our hard work on the map, we’ll partner with photographers, stylists, PR and sales team to successfully promote our label and product.
