What: A new Jen Chapin album! Or at least the first half..
Songs of ambition (and the lack thereof), privilege (ditto), anger, affection, gratitude, exhaustion, and humility. In short, of family. We'll record the songs "Go Away", "Don't Talk", "Reckoning", "Paris", and "Spare Love (Not Fair)".
Who: Jen Chapin, Stephan Crump (bassist/co-producer/recording and mixing engineer), Jamie Fox (guitar), Liberty Ellman (guitar) and Dan Rieser (drums). Maceo and Van Crump (pictured above, with their parents Stephan and Jen) will pop in for inspiration, distraction and sabotage.
Where: here at the super-pro home studio in Prospect Heights, Brooklyn
When: November 20th and 22nd. Then we go to Memphis to eat turkey.
How: That's where you come in. The funds raised here will pay the band, cover some mixing and mastering, and print up CDs and download cards for you. There are still tunes to write and a full album to record, but I wanted to see how things were sounding so far, and get a gauge on what sort of tangible interest there is out there in a new album for 2011.
