About this project
Far North District are extremely excited to announce our up and coming debut album, Break The Chains, after the successful release of our EP earlier this year. If our music has a theme, it is unity and inspiration. We're asking for you to join us and help send it out into the wider world.
To do this the way it deserves we're aiming to create a professionally-produced album. The songs are written, our sound is tighter than ever and we have an exciting summer of live performances lined up.
It's time for us to take the next step and that's where you come in. The album is ready to be recorded and produced by the outstanding talents of Leigh Crossman at the Ariel Studios in North Devon.
We'll be going into the studio in August and the date for the official launch of the album is set for the 6th of September when we'll be hosting a celebration in Combe Martin, North Devon.
The £3000 budget that we're asking for will be allocated to the all-important studio time and also the post production process that encompasses the tracking, mixing and mastering. This second phase is considerably less sexy, but equally vital and even more exacting and it's something that we're very committed to perfecting.
Your pledges will also go towards providing the very best rewards we could think up. We have everything from downloads of our songs to unique access and artefacts from the album's creation and we're even willing to invade your house and give it all we've got.
Who We Are
Our music has been described as folk rock, however it's hard to place us in a genre as our songs come in many colours. Regarding their meaning and nature we prefer to let them speak for themselves and for the listener to discover freely without influence.
The band first got together 2 years ago in the sleepy seaside town of Combe Martin in North Devon. Singer-songwriting couple Jack and Star Tipper stumbled across multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Chris Millington and the difference in styles created an intoxicating blend of harmonies and vibrant sounds.
The next member to fall into place was cajon player Kevin Holt who brought the drive needed for the sound you hear today. But the band was not complete until lead and rhythm guitarist Tony Dredster (AKA Antony Price) came on board at the start of the year.
Since then the band has gone from strength to strength, gaining a passionate following with a string of gigs throughout the South West. Our debut EP sold out in the first week which was a source of great pride for us and we've just released our first music video with another on the way.

Your involvement is what counts. Talk to us. Interact with us. We'll be here with you on every step on the path towards creating an album to move and linger in the hearts our listeners.
You can massively help us by spreading the word wherever you can. Tell your friends, share the links, come and meet us at one of our gigs. Everything you do furthers the cause.
All of us here involved with Far North District want to take this opportunity to say thank you to the many people who have supported us up until now and all of you who can offer your support in the future. Love And Light. F.N.D
Risks and challenges
The songs are written, the band is primed, the studio time is reserved, our fan base is waiting. Everybody involved in this project has worked well together before.
We can't foresee any storms on the horizon, but if anything does show up we're hellbent on seeing this through no matter what. This album is the very essence of what we do and who we are.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
