Ten days of horrifying excitement at the Southern Theater featuring theater, dance, music, and film. Oct. 25 - Nov. 3.

For ten days surrounding Halloween, seven different groups present an exploration of the genres of horror through a multitude of performance disciplines at the 2012 Twin Cities Horror Festival at the Southern Theater. The festival features local theater, storytelling, dance and music artists presenting their take on the theme of “horror.” The festival will present more than 30 performances over two weekends with a free costume and dance party from 5:30pm-9:30pm on Halloween Night.

Festival shows include Ghost Force: Search for the Truth by Mike Fotis, the psychological horror-comedy Harold by Four Humors Theater, an original film score to the 1968 zombie classic Night of the Living Dead by The Poor Nobodys, the bloody thriller Senseless by RawRedMeat Productions, a one-woman musical The Legend of White Woman Creek by Nick Ryan and Katie Hartman, Bump in the Night by Erin Sheppard featuring dance and storytelling, and the horrifying magic of God Damned Son of a Bitch by Tim Uren.

The festival runs October 25 through November 3.

GHOST FORCE: SEARCHING FOR THE TRUTH
by Mike Fotis

"Fotis is developing into a force as an observational storyteller, with ace timing and a gift for the devastating throwaway line" – City Pages
“If Kevin Kling were on steroids and yet inexplicably still had a bit of a self-confidence problem, he would be Mike Fotis" – TC Daily Planet

Ghosts exist. They're everywhere. That's a fact. A fact that the mainstream science community wants to ignore. Join the team of GF:SFTT as they seek to uncover the truth! Their next mission? The Southern Theater. Boom! You've been truthed!

HAROLD

by Four Humors

Winner of the Critic’s Pick Award at the 2010 Cincinnati Fringe Festival
“Claustrophobically intense… Beautifully paced… you need to see this one.” – Cincy Beat
"Harold brings the Funny to Terror and hits the Scarecrow out of the park." - TheConveyor.com

Based on the best of campfire ghost stories, Harold is a horrific comedy that delves into the deepest fears of our own imaginations and the animal instincts of the human psyche. Two brothers drive their herd deep into the mountain to graze. Isolated from the outside world, they build a scarecrow for their amusement; Harold. They show Harold amazing kindness and they show Harold amazing cruelty, until one day, Harold starts repaying the favor.

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD  original film score
by The Poor Nobodys

“The music is a powerful, sultry blend of folk and jazz, with a hint of classical sounds,” - The Northeaster, MN

“Epic, yet grounded largely in folk and classical territories, The Poor Nobodys are a varied and multi-dimensional take on the spaghetti-western soundtrack genre as typified by Ennio Morricone – combining this, elements of Chopin, and a strong Americana base yields distinct (and decidedly good) results.” – Sputnik Music

After successful runs at the Trylon Cinema with original scores for The Black Pirate (1926) and Battleship Potempkin (1925), The Poor Nobodys present a new original score for the 1968 classic zombie film Night of the Living Dead.

by Erin Sheppard

From trapped souls to psycho cheerleaders, zombie apocalypse to haunted houses, Bump in the Night weaves throughout many facets of the horror genre using dance and storytelling.
