About this project
Depths is planned to be released on multiple platforms including iPhone, iPad, PC, and possibly Windows Phone and Android platforms. This game is already on it's way but I need financial help so that I can buy the hardware and upgrades to my current software to export to mobile platforms and make this game available on iTunes and Windows Store. Depths is a 2D platformer adventure game centered around a renegade space pirate by the name of Sytro who, after raiding a rival pirate's ship to retrieve a long sought-after ancient relic fabled to lead to a mythical world of treasures, finds himself at the mercy of the influence of the artifact. Sytro is brought to the planet of the artifact's origin where he discovers a world in chaos under the siege of a corrupt deity. The spiritual balance of this once paradise world is in jeopardy and the planet is headed for destruction unless Sytro can set aside his selfish greed and fight for a greater cause; and if successful, the mythic riches of a long-lost treasure at the edge of the universe.
$3,000 - I'll hire some voice actors and a character artist for cinematic cutscenes!
$5,000 - I'll make Depths available as a box set with poster
$10,000+ - I have no idea what else is left to be accomplished, but I will undoubtedly find a good use for every dollar spent.
Risks and challenges
The only issues I could run into is perhaps a late release due to needing more time to debug the final product. Depths will be a large and non-linear game and may have unexpectedly numerous small bugs or issues with mobile compatibility. I will be able to hire help if needed to aid me in debugging and streamlining the final product. I'm also a fairly creative code writer so bugs will not be a challenge as I thoroughly debug as I work and test my game as often as I work on it. Finding testers will not be a problem either as I have plenty of individuals already inquiring for the position.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
