What the $ is for?
We are raising funds to help cover travel cost and the creation of images that will preserve and share this experience. The best images will be on display for a gallery showing in Seattle Wa. We will be recounting the trip with journal entries and a video edit that will be shared through an online blog. Our goal of $5,000 is not enough to pull off this project. We will be investing every dime and tapping all of our resources to make this work. We are more then willing to make the trip on a shoe string budget but have our fingers crossed that we will exceed our goal of $5,000 making the trip that much easier.
How we plan to pull it off?
Ian and I have worked together for the past 6 years. We are great friends and share a strong work ethic and passion for creation. We have had many images published in top magazines. In order to find a home in these publications these images were first compared against and selected out of a pool of tens of thousands of the best photographs from around the world. My skill as a photographer is proven through my strong portfolio and international achievments.
Here is a video from the last photo we put our heads together for. It is to this date Jordan's number one sold photo. This is a small example of our drive and passion as a team.
We will put our skills to the test by adding the element of adventure. Ian and I have pushed ourselves for years propelling our motivation further with each endeavor. Recently Ian and I were fortunate enough to work together on a project spending the summer of 2012 traveling and shooting snowboarding through South America. During that time we overcame challenges of extremely low snow fall, a constant language barrier and a non existent budget. The time we spent together was productive and yielded good coverage internationally, however the experience of the journey changed my life forever.
Risks and challenges
Ian and I are individuals. In a sense, our lives are based around managing risk and overcoming challenges. From our day to day lives navigating down the mountain, to our professional endeavors we are constantly reinventing 'The American Dream'. There are many risks and challanges involved when pursuing a life of passion.
We are accustomed to the risks and challenges present when capturing the art that snowboarding represents. This is one reason we are providing ample time to complete our goals. Staying in India for 30 days will give us a solid chance to catch some good weather and immerse ourselves in the culture. The challenges beyond that are unknown to us and that is where we get to exercise our spirit for adventure. We have yet to meet a challenge we were unable to overcome and have conditioned ourselves to learn from each failure or success along the way.
During our last assignment we proved that not even bad wether can hold us back. While shooting in Chile we saw but one storm cycle. The conditions were bad overall, hard as a rock and scary icy. We are seasoned professionals and have adapted to working in all conditions throughout many years in the cloudy NW to the wild lands of Patagonia. We rode the ice and adapted to our surroundings. We captured some amazing moments. Jordan had a two page spread published, as well as a half page, from the trip. Our strongest asset fuels are passion... CREATIVITY. Along this vein we have learned that where theres a will there is a way. It's not always about catching the most air or doing the coolest trick, for us it comes down to dedication, creativity and imagination. We have established a keen eye and style from years of working together. We are like brothers in the field and that connection shows in our work. We take care of business while having as much fun as possible along the way. Whatever risks and challenges there are we will adapt and rise above.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
