An EcoGarden, the smart LED growlight, submersible water pump, grow media, decorative gravel, seeds starter pack, step-by-step guide tutorial, power adapter, the mobile application. The fish need to be bought at the local pet store, since we cannot ship our buddies.

The feeder keeps running until it's (almost) out of food, and that is based on the type and amount of fish used in the EcoGarden. E.g. a betta's stomach is small, so the amount is very little (1 rotation of the feeder is enough, which releases a small amount of food). It should be fed 1-2 times a day, so a total of maximum 2 rotations.
Feeding this amount, which is pretty standard and a good average, you can store food for up to 3-4 months approximately. Refilling the food compartment is simple and takes around 1-2 minutes.

Inside the black compartment the feeder is hidden behind a cover. Once the cover is taken off, the feeder can be refilled easily. The app will explain this process with animations.

Tropical fish definitely prefer a warmer climate, around 26°C. A heater is recommended and will be communicated to users (in the app as well as through our other channels) if they decide to acquire a tropical fish. We will make it very clear on what type of fish thrive in what temperature.
This is also one of the main reasons we have integrated a temperature sensor in the EcoGarden. So you can monitor it at all times, as well as get notified if the temperature goes outside of the preferred temperature interval (differs from fish to fish of course). And YES! You can easily install a heater. We use heaters in all of our aquariums - but not always visible in images.
We will offer suitable heaters through our website and we might introduce them as a stretch goal on Kickstarter!

The EcoGarden requires occasional water changes. Take out 20% of the water from the aquarium and replace it with fresh water from the tap around 2 times/month. Each session shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes.
Cleaning it can be done 1 time/month which means that you simply remove and rinse the decorative gravel, which you then put back into the system. We recommend to add a snail which not only looks cool, but it helps remove the algae (natural vacuum cleaner), so you don’t have to worry about that! The app will also let you know when to clean/change water when it is time to do so.

One size which has 3 growing compartment to grow 6 plants at a time.
The dimensions are: 16,7" x 10,2" x 10,6" (42,5cm x 26cm x 27cm).Last updated: -
The system is designed so it can be set up easily, by anyone. You simply...
1) Fill it with water 2) Decorate with gravel (and other objects for the fish to hide behind, but also for aesthetic purposes) 3) Fill the upper compartment with grow medium 4) Add seeds 5) Place your LED light 6) Connect the EcoGarden to the wall adapter 7) Start cycling before introducing the fish (explained in next step).Last updated: -
This process is done before you introduce your fish. The water needs to cycle and allow for bacterial colonies to grow. They are the heros that break down the fish waste into nutrients for the plants! You can help boost the process by introducing ammonia into the system (e.g. by adding fish food). This way, bacterias can start to grow and help create a good environment before introducing the fish. A few days is enough to help set the system up and cycle the water :)

We recommend 1 Betta fish but if you prefer to have a few fish we suggest keeping 2-3 Zebra Danios or Male Fancy Guppies as an alternate pet choice. We've had folks put snails, shrimp, crabs, and a lot of other fish in there. Based on the average 1" of fish per gallon rule (2.54 cm of fish per 3.78 L of water), you'll only want to put small fish in there. Your local pet/aquarium store can also recommend species they carry that would thrive in a a 24 L aquarium.

Decorations not only look good in your aquarium, they also act as a place for the fish to hide behind.

You can grow a variety of plants, ranging from herbs and veggies to fruits! Herbs and microgreens are the most common type of plants that people grow, and it doesn’t take long!
Last updated: -
After harvesting your crops and before planting new seeds, the roots of the previous plants need to be taken away and the grow medium needs to be cleansed thoroughly. Then you are all set to get growing!
Last updated: -
From a few days to a few weeks. Microgreens e.g. will take you less than 10 days before you can start harvesting, and they grow a lot! It takes around 4-5 weeks to grow a basil plant and cherry tomatoes e.g.! Other herbs might 2-3 weeks instead. It really depends on what you want to grow :)

Apartment, home, office, classroom, restaurant, hotel and so forth. We advise you to put the EcoGarden against a wall or something, to cover one surface of the tank, or why not add a tropical image of a beach behind it? :D

Yes, it is built to withstand water splashes. However, the lamp shaft should not be submerged in water, since there are connectors situated in this area. It will however be protected and sealed as a precaution.

Improper care of EcoGarden such as not cleaning the components as recommended could increase the chance of bacterial and algae growth.
