What is Linea Caffe?
Linea Caffe is an espresso bar and coffee roasting company launched by Andrew Barnett, founder of Ecco Caffe and Judge at the World Barista Championship and Cup of Excellence Awards. The San Francisco branch of Linea Caffe is also host to Lt. Waffle and GreenSalads.org, two food concepts by Anthony Myint (Mission Chinese Food, Commonwealth, Mission Bowling Club).

We are excited to open a new cafe in the Mission neighborhood of San Francisco. Opening a cafe is inherently a community activity and we wanted to use Kickstarter to allow people to participate in this project from the very beginning. We will use the funds to create an open indoor/outdoor stand up bar and provide outdoor seating on San Carlos street. This will create a great space for people in SF to come and enjoy coffee, waffles and salads. The outdoor space will be a wonderful way to better connect with our neighborhood and make it a more enjoyable place to live. Thank you so much for your support. Risks and challenges
There are a myriad of challenges that come up when opening a cafe. Will we get the permits we need from the city? Will we be able to manufacture a stand up bar that passes health inspection? Will our coffee arrive from Brazil on time in order to get sample roasts tasted and production roasts started? Can we find employees that will live up to the caliber of excellence we are seeking? Will European waffle irons work correctly using US power sources?
Fortunately for us, we have an excellent network of colleagues and friends who have dealt with all of these issues before. There may be delays and there will certainly be unexpected problems that arise, but with our experience and network we strongly believe that we will be able to launch this project and create a fantastic coffee and waffle experience for all of our supporters.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
