go-e ONwheel converts your bike into an e-bike in seconds
We are go-e and our product is the go-e ONwheel motor. It makes an e-bike out of your favourite bike within seconds. It is tiny, lightweight and very powerful and can just be plugged in onto your normal bike.
The go-e ONwheel motor is environmentally friendly. With this additional drive unit it will be much easier to leave the car in the garage and go to work by bike. You can mount and demount the motor from your bike in just five seconds! The motor only engages when you are pedalling, otherwise it does not touch your wheel. It is the ideal supplement for your bike because you can now use your favourite bike as an e-bike whenever you want!
With the ONwheel motor you are much more flexible than you are with a conventional e-bike. You just mount it when you would like to drive with additional power; otherwise you can leave it at home or turn it off. You can adjust the amount of additional power with buttons on your handlebars or turn it off completely. Sensors are detecting if you are pedalling, and if yes, the motor engages and drives your rear wheel with up to 800W of additional power.
When we deliver your go-e bike ONwheel motor, it is set to 250W and a maximal speed of 25 km/h in order to meet EU-regulations. You can set the maximal amount of assistance (e.g. off, 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of maximal assistance level) with the buttons on the handle bar or in the go-e.bike app.
go-e has adjustable power levels.
Cycling in a moderate power level should give you approximately 60km battery range.
It is in your responsibility to set the maximal limits in the app according to local speed and power limits. However, the maximal setting is 800W and 45 km/h.
You do not have to worry, that go-e ONwheel will wear your tire out quickly, the wear will just double because you have the asphalt and the motor now touching your tire. Furthermore, the go-e ONwheel will not slip on your tire as long, as it holds on the asphalt.
If you own a smartphone, you have the ability to connect the ONwheel motor via Bluetooth with your smartphone. You can view the actual speed, power in watt, battery charge level and estimated remaining distance. You can configure the speed levels, which are switchable with buttons on your handlebar individually and set maximal speed and power. Plus you can charge your phone at the USB port on your handlebar.
We also included google maps and opencyclemap in the app to use them for navigation. Last but not least you can lock your go-e ONwheel with a PIN.
The app is currently only available for Android, but we are working hard to make it available for iOS and Windows Phone too.
The initial installation requires mounting the mounting unit on your bicycle stand plate. It is located between the pedals and the rear wheel. If you don’t have a bicycle stand plate, don’t worry, a substitution plate will be included with every mounting kit.
It will take just 5 minutes to install all necessary parts on your bike. You don’t need any special tools, just a few screwdrivers which are included. Once the mounting kit is screwed, you can just plug in your motor and battery and you are done. It is just plug-and-play! Every time you want to go biking, take your motor and plug it in. Of course you can also leave it on your bike.
Every part of the go-e ONwheel motor will be high-precision CNC-milled, out of a sea-water-resistant aluminium alloy and anodised. All screws are made of stainless steel and all cables and electronics are sealed to make it totally waterproof. This makes the go-e ONwheel nearly indestructible and is necessary because the conditions under your bike can be pretty hard.
The battery is plugged in just as easy as the motor is. It can be locked with a key and taken out for charging. (You can also charge it while it is mounted on the bike)
It is the passion of go-e to continue the development of innovative ideas and make a high-quality and marketable product out of them. It is important for us to be able to offer the products for a fair and marketable price, so that many people can profit from innovations. In the focus of our interest are environmentally friendly drive concepts.
The idea of the friction drive was implemented in the last century and the legendary Solex was for decades a part of the street scenes in Europe. At that time they used a two-stroke engine to drive the front wheel directly. At that time the motors where noisy, heavy and stinking.
Nevertheless, the principle is well proven millions of times. For this reason there have been many new approaches to realize a drive unit of this kind with environment-friendly electrical motors. Many of them were implemented in ambitious DIY-projects.
Everything is ready for mass production and our suppliers are just waiting for the start signal and promised to deliver the needed parts on time. We intentionally set the schedule very relaxed to avoid any delays. Probably we can produce much more ONwheel's than we promised, so there is a little chance that we can ship your parts earlier.
Once we finished delivering all kickstarter rewards, we will sell the go-e ONwheel to the public for 599,-€ . We are still looking for distributors!
We offer the complete go-e ONwheel kit (which includes everything you need to convert your bike into an e-bike) and some addon packages (seperate mounting kits, batteries, chargers and some accessories).

As we are from Austria, all prices include 20% VAT.
Risks and challenges
We have worked over 10 months on realizing our dreams. From the first prototype, which was assembled very primitive and brought us the fundamentals of the technique closer, to a sophisticated production-ready model, with which we have a fully developed industrial product in our hands, which meets our high quality standards.
So minimize the risk further, we are working together with a production company that can show a long experience in the development and production of electric drive systems. So we hope, we can avoid problems that usually arise in the transition to industrial production significantly.
Anyway, there is always a small risk that something unexpected could happen. Strikes or accidents can delay the completion, suppliers could fail. We received guarantees from our suppliers that they can deliver the needed parts within he guaranteed periods in appropriate quantities. Written pledges were collected prior to the start of the kickstarter campaign.
We make every effort to meet all legal requirements. This concerns in particular the requirements relating to the road traffic regulations. Since these requirements are totally different in different countries, we designed the go-e ONwheel bike power kit so, that it can be adapted by its owner.
