Any news to the GOG keys?

    2. David on

I never received and email about I'm a member of GOG and saw that they were selling Chaos Reborn drm free. It really made me mad that I didn't have it yet as a kickstarter backer first. I'm so done with kickstarter. The day can't come soon enough when all the projects I've back that haven't been abandoned are released so I can leave this train wreck of abandonment, lies and misdirection.

      @ Trenton,
How you get the e-mail? I prefer the GoG version but did not get any e-mail

    4. Trenton Capp on

Oh, never-mind! I just saw that I had an e-mail explaining this. Says further instructions will be sent soon.

    5. Trenton Capp on

Awesome that the game is now on, and thus DRM free - as it should be. How can I get a key/code to download it from GOG?

    6. David on

I pledged $20 for the DRM free version. Please send me a key/code or please direct me to a place to download the game. Had I known your where writing this game for release on steam I wouldn't have invested in it. I would not have knowingly supported those who support DRM.

    7. PegasusOrgans-AGL 589 on

I have yet to receive a key for this. I will NEVER support you again.

@Sam Stanley: Wrote a message on KS asking about music and artbook rewards two weeks ago. No response yet. :(

    9. Trenton Capp on

The game is hard! But I'm loving it. I love the many design nuances, clearly the work of a skilled game designer! It has a few issues and bugs, but over all I'm proud to have funded this game. I don't think it'll be a huge commercial success but I hope it makes enough money to send a message. This is a unique gem in today's gaming world. Just wanted to say good job!

    10. Sam Stanley on

I've yet to get anything through about the t-shirt, music or art rewards. Has anyone had any news on these?

    11. TC Weidner on

yeah never received an email, survey or anything, Quite a shame the game is out and backers are left wondering whats going on? pretty sad

That's reassuring. I've seen it stated a few times now that a single player DRM version is on the way. I've waited this long so I can wait a bit longer :)

Also about the DRM free stuff, last thing I head was Oct 10th when JG posted.

We are not using the Steam DRM system, but we are using the steam authentication for logging in to the game. We will be releasing on GOG when we have sufficient offline content, and we will have an alternative login system.

      in this thread…

you can play realms entirely single player - I do, just turn off invaders and everything is AI controlled.

If you're missing your steam key email everyone I have seen on the forums raise a post about a missing steam key, it's always just turned out to be in a spam folder or they have changed email accounts since backing. Email the above address and they should be able to sort it - I'm not sure if the devs are checking here much anymore.

I must say I am a bit worried. On the chaos reborn website where the game is for sale, one can purchase steam keys but no mention of a DRM free version. The latest 1.0 release update doesn't mention a DRM free release in the future. The concerns here about the single player game and DRM free versions go unaddressed................... Apparently Julian did mention some time ago that the game will be released DRM free on when the single player part is up to scratch but some sort of announcement about this more regularly in the updates would keep people such as myself in the loop and less worried. It does seem to be heavily focused on multiplayer and the single player mode is an afterthought. Not what I thought when I funded the kickstarter campaign but that's the inherent risk in this sort of thing though. Oh well........................

Hi, good job on the 1.0 release! I am one of the few who has yet to receive a t-shirt. Happy to wait if it's still feasible, or have a refund if not. Looking forward to your next exciting project!

    24. krayzkrok on

Hi Piña, actually the single player was never touted as a campaign in the traditional sense, more of an overworld - read the description on the main page. There is a robust single player in the game, although Snapshot have said they intend to expand it further post release. They didn't quite manage to get procedural generation working for the release, so the realms are all hand-crafted by the devs and players. I enjoy the realms a lot. The offline battles are also more like the original Chaos: you versus the enemy AI wizards. But frankly I spent most time in multiplayer, which surprises me as I am not usually a fan of that, but in CR it works really well. But anyway, Snapshot have made it clear that 1.0 is not the final release and that development is continuing. It would be a shame if you missed out on perhaps my favourite game of 2015.

So the game is out, and I for one am very disappointed with the single player side of the game. I fired up the game now and I saw no single player campaign to speak of, only online accounts, matches, multiplayer, microtransactions, and some kind of skirmishes. Utterly pointless.

I would ask about how to get my DRM-free version, but since the game appears to be basically useless to me anyway, I don't even care.

    29. John Falcon

Nevermind...I just found an old email buried in my spam file....

    30. John Falcon

I back so many projects that some of them slip through the cracks as this one did, so I need to ask, have any rewards for this actually been sent? I never received any DRM free links or steam code. Should I have by now?

I too have sent a couple of emails to Snapshot regarding the T-Shirt as I realised I hadn't heard anything about them for a good while, so far I haven't had any reply either.

    35. Turk

hi this is the 3rd time i posted and have not received any reply

      Hi Julian

i am one of the kickstarters who never received the physical rewards, the T shirt etc, the last email was that they were sending the shirts to your office personally and you asked me to email so you can handle the shipment personally.

I have replied twice and have not heard back from you or your office.

please recheck your email. Thank you

    36. Josh "Panda Cub" on

I am also looking forward to the single player part of the game, with that being said I completely agree with UV's comment below and I think that the game will be better for it.

I have been purposefully holding off on playing the game much until now, with the first steps towards a single player campaign having been implemented you will be seeing me in the game a lot more often now.

    37. UnstableVoltage on

@Anthony DuLac you make some very valid points. I myself am more excited about the single player, and have been waiting for some time. While I can sympathise with your frustration, I can also see things from the viewpoint of the developer.

The combat is the core mechanic of this game, both in the single player and multiplayer. It's the most mechanically rich part of the experience. As the single player game is built around the combat, it would see odd to me if they had tried to make the single player element without getting the combat locked down first.

The multiplayer alpha has been a great way for the developers to tweak the combat, spells and item systems, getting it all fine-tuned before working on the single player. It wouldn't be an effective use of time having to code AI routines for the single player game, and having to rework that code every time you made a change to the core combat.

The good news is though, the wait is almost over.......

Really only excited about the single-player - kind of frustrated that it's taking this long to get it up and running. Studies have clearly shown that the vast majority of most gamers only ever play Single-player, so working on it last seems short-sighted (to me, anyway). Oh well, better late than never I guess. Sigh.

    39. Lagoon on

I sent an email for the t-shirt, again. Let's see if they answer...

    40. Geraldine McDaid on

I've been rather busy of late and only now just installed Chaos on Steam after backing it on the KS. WOW Julian just does not know how to make a bad game. This is compelling to play as his older games ever were. Well done Julian! :)

    41. krayzkrok on

Snapshot's email is if you're tracking down t-shirts and keys.

@Aaron - this update is mostly to test the equipment system which will be an integral part of the single player campaign, and of course one of the three multiplayer modes (the RPG mode). Snapshot probably want everyone to play this mode right now to test it out, but the original mode will be back soon (hopefully next update). The perils of being a tester, I guess. I'm having a blast though, especially now it's starting to level up and I can better select the kind of wizard I want to play.

    42. Aaron Rout on

There is a contact us link on here somewhere. I used it once to ask about the t-shirt...

    43. Aaron Rout on

Project Update #38 - More pointless additions making it less and less like the game you used to love. T-shirts you say? Erm. Ahem. That's all for now...

    44. HTF on

i just remembered my self that i changed my email while back and the Key mostlikely was at that account mail but that mail is locked now and cant get to it, do they have a email address i can ask can they send the key for my new email?

    45. Aaron Rout on

Its been available for a while now. Contact them and ask them to resend the key. May of got lost somewhere. I hope you are not waiting for a T-shirt too...

    46. HTF on

i backed for 20d long time ago, it says i can play early access, well early access is on steam now and they haven't send me a key, it says delivery in march? but if early access is already available..?

    47. Lagoon on

I don't care if they have been lost/stolen/eaten by the dog. It's not a painting by Caravaggio you can't produce again.
I'm starting to get upset and that's very rare. And dangerous.

    48. Aaron Rout on

@Lagoon I was starting to think I was the only one who hadn't got one. Having said that I don't hold out much hope of ever getting it now. I respect Julian as a programmer but his choice of business associates is somewhat questionable. I'm thinking they have been lost/stolen whatever and they don't want to admit it. I hope I'm wrong but the communication on this has been terrible.

    49. Lagoon on

Any news about the T-shirts? I paid for it 1 YEAR ago...

    50. Troy Lonergan on

Hey guys! It seems that 25 years ago there was a Lords Of Chaos demo/level featured on a YS covertape! April 1990.
