Have a question?
The Chaos Reborn sound track is included with the download of the game. You will need to look in the game installation folder to locate it.
I can't believe its been 3 years and the game is still not finished plus
no artwork and no music as promised.
now he is working on his new project without finishing this one....hmmmm
No definite news. When they did respond, they gave future dates which came and went. And now, just silence.
I'm still waiting for the "PDF of our stunning Chaos Reborn Art book and Game Guide, and downloadable versions of the music tracks", any news anyone?
As an update, seems the one way to get a GOG key is to directly request it from their support email. If there's someone else still waiting, I recommend to go for it.
Still waiting for my GOG key.
The ebook of the first of the fiction trilogy has just gone out. If you didn't get a Backerkit email, check your Backerkit account, you should be able to find it.
Thanks for the Lore Guide!
Were the art book and music ever sent out to backers?
Just for the record, I was just reminded of this game because I saw it on offer on the GOG sales and thought, didn't I already own this one? So, I checked the status. Ah yes, the one who would let us know "shortly after Christmas" how to get a GOG key and yet I still got nothing. What's up with that? I don't seem to be the only one, questions about it are ignored, and I don't care about the game enough to go digging around for my key. If you say you'll send an email, do at least that, darn it. and 3 months isn't "shortly after"
Um @David, did you receive your GOG key yet? I got mine on 16 February, about four days after I asked for one. You're over-reacting a little, these guys are doing a great job but they're a small team with limited funds, so things might not happen quite as quickly as they might. But they're getting there. And yes, you seem to have backed a tonne of KS projects!
@Guild There are single player realms that you can play, and there's now a single player campaign to play through although it's relatively short. The realms are largely very good, basically a storytelling and strategic layer for the tactical battles.
Is the single player RPG part of this game active/implemented?
What is the status of GoG keys?
Any news to the GOG keys?
I never received and email about GOG.com I'm a member of GOG and saw that they were selling Chaos Reborn drm free. It really made me mad that I didn't have it yet as a kickstarter backer first. I'm so done with kickstarter. The day can't come soon enough when all the projects I've back that haven't been abandoned are released so I can leave this train wreck of abandonment, lies and misdirection.
How you get the e-mail? I prefer the GoG version but did not get any e-mail
Oh, never-mind! I just saw that I had an e-mail explaining this. Says further instructions will be sent soon.
Awesome that the game is now on GOG.com, and thus DRM free - as it should be. How can I get a key/code to download it from GOG?
I pledged $20 for the DRM free version. Please send me a key/code GOG.com or please direct me to a place to download the game. Had I known your where writing this game for release on steam I wouldn't have invested in it. I would not have knowingly supported those who support DRM.
I have yet to receive a key for this. I will NEVER support you again.
@Sam Stanley: Wrote a message on KS asking about music and artbook rewards two weeks ago. No response yet. :(
The game is hard! But I'm loving it. I love the many design nuances, clearly the work of a skilled game designer! It has a few issues and bugs, but over all I'm proud to have funded this game. I don't think it'll be a huge commercial success but I hope it makes enough money to send a message. This is a unique gem in today's gaming world. Just wanted to say good job!
I've yet to get anything through about the t-shirt, music or art rewards. Has anyone had any news on these?
yeah never received an email, survey or anything, Quite a shame the game is out and backers are left wondering whats going on? pretty sad
That's reassuring. I've seen it stated a few times now that a single player DRM version is on the way. I've waited this long so I can wait a bit longer :)
Also about the DRM free stuff, last thing I head was Oct 10th when JG posted.
We are not using the Steam DRM system, but we are using the steam authentication for logging in to the game. We will be releasing on GOG when we have sufficient offline content, and we will have an alternative login system.
in this thread http://www.forum.chaos-reborn.com/viewtopic.php…
you can play realms entirely single player - I do, just turn off invaders and everything is AI controlled.
If you're missing your steam key email firstname.lastname@example.org everyone I have seen on the forums raise a post about a missing steam key, it's always just turned out to be in a spam folder or they have changed email accounts since backing. Email the above address and they should be able to sort it - I'm not sure if the devs are checking here much anymore.
I must say I am a bit worried. On the chaos reborn website where the game is for sale, one can purchase steam keys but no mention of a DRM free version. The latest 1.0 release update doesn't mention a DRM free release in the future. The concerns here about the single player game and DRM free versions go unaddressed................... Apparently Julian did mention some time ago that the game will be released DRM free on gog.com when the single player part is up to scratch but some sort of announcement about this more regularly in the updates would keep people such as myself in the loop and less worried. It does seem to be heavily focused on multiplayer and the single player mode is an afterthought. Not what I thought when I funded the kickstarter campaign but that's the inherent risk in this sort of thing though. Oh well........................
No single player game? wtf is the point then?! Grrrrr.
Same as Marcin.
Filled the survey few days ago and didn't get a steam key yet.
I Can see game on steam, but I didn't get The key.
Now im sorry I was a backer: i'd get game quicker And cheaper on steam :/
A DRM free version was promised but from what I can see this 1.0 release is steam only. When can we expect a DRM free release on gog.com?
I found it in spam filter, apologies
I've done my survey for forge level but I have no steam key. What do I need to do?
Hi, good job on the 1.0 release! I am one of the few who has yet to receive a t-shirt. Happy to wait if it's still feasible, or have a refund if not. Looking forward to your next exciting project!
Hi Piña, actually the single player was never touted as a campaign in the traditional sense, more of an overworld - read the description on the main page. There is a robust single player in the game, although Snapshot have said they intend to expand it further post release. They didn't quite manage to get procedural generation working for the release, so the realms are all hand-crafted by the devs and players. I enjoy the realms a lot. The offline battles are also more like the original Chaos: you versus the enemy AI wizards. But frankly I spent most time in multiplayer, which surprises me as I am not usually a fan of that, but in CR it works really well. But anyway, Snapshot have made it clear that 1.0 is not the final release and that development is continuing. It would be a shame if you missed out on perhaps my favourite game of 2015.
I can find it in chaos-reborn.backerkit.com = I can't find it in chaos-reborn.backerkit.com
where can in get steam key? (I've pledged 20$)
I can find it in chaos-reborn.backerkit.com
How do I get the key?
Thanks a lot!
I'm one of the backers who hasn't received a t-shirt.
Not sure if this is what you mean by contacting you through Kickstarter, please let me know if some other form of contact is needed.
So the game is out, and I for one am very disappointed with the single player side of the game. I fired up the game now and I saw no single player campaign to speak of, only online accounts, matches, multiplayer, microtransactions, and some kind of skirmishes. Utterly pointless.
I would ask about how to get my DRM-free version, but since the game appears to be basically useless to me anyway, I don't even care.
Nevermind...I just found an old email buried in my spam file....
I back so many projects that some of them slip through the cracks as this one did, so I need to ask, have any rewards for this actually been sent? I never received any DRM free links or steam code. Should I have by now?
Ok. Now I know. Thx for the update. I am really looking forward to play it.
When is the game ready? I mean when will I get my reward?
Been really put off pledging too much for extras after this. I have given up hope of getting my T-shirt. Disappointing!
I too have sent a couple of emails to Snapshot regarding the T-Shirt as I realised I hadn't heard anything about them for a good while, so far I haven't had any reply either.
hi this is the 3rd time i posted and have not received any reply
i am one of the kickstarters who never received the physical rewards, the T shirt etc, the last email was that they were sending the shirts to your office personally and you asked me to email so you can handle the shipment personally.
I have replied twice and have not heard back from you or your office.
please recheck your email. Thank you
I am also looking forward to the single player part of the game, with that being said I completely agree with UV's comment below and I think that the game will be better for it.
I have been purposefully holding off on playing the game much until now, with the first steps towards a single player campaign having been implemented you will be seeing me in the game a lot more often now.
@Anthony DuLac you make some very valid points. I myself am more excited about the single player, and have been waiting for some time. While I can sympathise with your frustration, I can also see things from the viewpoint of the developer.
The combat is the core mechanic of this game, both in the single player and multiplayer. It's the most mechanically rich part of the experience. As the single player game is built around the combat, it would see odd to me if they had tried to make the single player element without getting the combat locked down first.
The multiplayer alpha has been a great way for the developers to tweak the combat, spells and item systems, getting it all fine-tuned before working on the single player. It wouldn't be an effective use of time having to code AI routines for the single player game, and having to rework that code every time you made a change to the core combat.
The good news is though, the wait is almost over.......
