Remembering The Legacy of Disney's Parent Trap Documentary
Switching places and seeing double yes, it's the same thing! Celebrate the legacy of Walt Disney's The Parent Trap with Hayley Mills.
The Story of The Parent Trap Lives on...
The Story of the Parent Trap continues to have many fans well into 2017. In this documentary, we will first take a look at Erich Kastner the German author who published the original story. Another plus on the making of this documentary will be learning about the films and stories from Disney star Hayley Mills. We will also be working closely with Disney Movie Collector and fan Richard Johnson who knows Walt Disney’s films inside and out. We will also be taking an inside look at the split-screen technical side of the Parent Trap.
This will be an interesting education about the history on that process as it had been used on film in previous generations. Along with a behind the scenes look at split screen technology, we will delve into the history and origins of The Parents Trap including interviews and stories from the casts and crews from The Parent Trap and its sequels.
Who is participating in this film?
Hayley Mills will be participating in an on-camera interview in this brand new upcoming documentary. Also included in the cast are Susan Henning, Joanne Barnes, and Tommy Sands from the 1961 Parent Trap film, Tom Skerritt, Carrie Heim, Stu Krieger (writer), Ron Maxwell (director) from Parent Trap II and script writer Deborah Amelon from Parent Trap III. Teresa Anderson (Mother to Bridget Anderson, Parent Trap II) will also share some special moments of her daughter Bridget and her time on the set with Carrie Heim. Bridget tragically passed away in 1997 in her early 20s. She will forever be missed by her family and all her fans. Patrica Richardson and Chris Gartin will also be on the documentary to talk about Parent Trap III.
"REMEMBERING THE PARENT TRAP" will be available directly from Family Films Productions. We are very excited to bring you yet another great film and take you down memory lane as you learn more about this classic Disney film and its very entertaining sequels. In the past few months we have been able to complete on- camera interviews with Joanne Barnes, Tom Skerritt, and Carrie Heim among others including Tommy Sands. Susan Henning has also been filmed, alongside the director of the Parent Trap II, Ron Maxwell.
The great thing about this film is that we are not asking for funds to "begin" a project but to help underwrite the additional production costs for the remainder of our film. We know exactly who we want in our film, and have a clear plan ahead for those arrangements to take place.
Is Disney aware of this new film?
This documentary is for the educational entertainment and fans worldwide. The Disney Company is aware of this material. The Parent Trap documentary is an independent production from Family Films Productions. Photos will be licensed in connection with the Parent Trap film series for illustrative purposes.
Two brand new songs has been written to celebrate the story of the Parent Trap and this documentary. You may have noticed this by seeing the "preview" at the end of our video. The music in this production will be composed by Simo Nakraoui. He is a talented and professional composer and has a number of titles to his credit. Simo has also arranged and produced the backing track to our new song, "Getting Together Again". Our other song is "Always Here For You", which is similar to the classic Parent Trap song, for Now & For Always.
I have produced other crowdfunding productions including - 1) An Audio drama on the story of the "Wizard of Oz" 2) Remembering Return to Oz (currently in production) We are currently in production on a film documentary on the Disney cult-classic Disney's Return to Oz.
This new film is titled, "Remembering Return to Oz" and stars director Walter Murch, and the star Fairuza Balk with other cast/crew including Gary Kurtz, Brian Henson, and many more.
Risks and challenges
We are looking for additional funds to cover the costs for interviews and
filming for the rest of the production, and also some license fees
. Sometimes things don't always go as planned. If we do not receive all the help with funds that we need for this project we will use the funds that we already have left from another project, to further continue the next project and seek other methods of gaining the rest of what is needed.
The plan is simple, we will be raising the funds to complete the interviews and take care of the music that we are wanting to use for the documentary. Thank you so much for your support and consideration.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
