Trauma and healing in Kibera

Yesterday I spent the day with Pascalia and the children of the Inama Mimi Rescue Feeding Center. Pascalia takes care of 12 children that would otherwise be homeless (the number has been as high as 35) and the children of Kibera residents that drop them off for 20 shillings a day ($ 0.25). She is an amazing woman, extremely important to the lives in her care.

Thanks for posting today's video, Patrick. Even though the sound wasn't ideal, every word you said was very clear, and the background motion and sound on the street gave a nice verisimilitude and immediacy. I'm glad you didn't postpone your posting, because the brief glimpse you gave us of today's events and how they may fit into the film was very engrossing.

Very well done; just the right length. Great information and local background flavor. Yes, I could hear every word, no problem. You are "a reporter from the field". This will make your documentary even more vibrant and alive when people have shared the adventure leading up to it with you, and with the world. Fantastic.

It was powerful, and it can help ANY human being that is dealing with trauma. Thank you for your prayers. It means a lot to me. Peace.

I can't wait to hear what she told the children so they could process that incident. I have a girl living with me that has had so much trauma to deal with in her life I am hoping seeing what Pascalia tells the children will help me help this child here with me. I am praying that you stay safe Patrick!
