Many of you may know that I've been creating a slightly slice-of-life comic called Junior Scientist Power Hour since June 2012, and it's about time that comic was collected in a book!
Junior Scientist Power Hour: Volume 1 would be a collection of the best JSPH comics in a 200 page black and white softcover book. At some tiers you can also get a companion 26-page comic book, Junior Paleontologist Power Hour, a series of comics about my paleontology field course adventure.
What Is This "JSPH"?
Junior Scientist Power Hour is a webcomic that started out as a humorous autobiographical comic, but became so much more. Sometimes it's about me and my cat, other times it's about a Tough Cop who has a Heart Of Gold, or a #1 Satan. Many people have found it enjoyable, and maybe you will, too! Here are some of the things people are saying about JSPH:
"Abby's comics are just a delight! A must-read for everyone" -My mom
"Abby's comics are sooo funny" -My sister
"You should back Abby's Kickstarter, she is so special and amazing" -My mom again
These reviewers are entirely impartial judges, so you know you can trust them-- but if you still aren't convinced, let's see if some sample comics will help soften your cold heart:
If that wasn't enough to make you desire this book with every ounce of your love organs, you can take a look at some actual preview pages, from the ACTUAL BOOK!!
(note: non-sequential pages)
Because some of my comics don't fill up a whole page, I'm adding over 25 extra drawings, as well as extras and fun stuff in the back! So there is a bunch of never-before-seen content that you will want to get your hands on, my friends,
Wait, you STILL AREN'T CONVINCED? You truly have a heart of ice. But you know, if you back, you can get some sweet rewaaards...
What You Get

And since the project hit its goal, we now have some fancy new--
If we hit these goals, we get fancy new things!!
Whoa, face stickers? A whole new comic?? A MYSTERY GOAL?? We'd better hit some of these, or you will be left wondering what could have been.
Risks and challenges
The only real challenge I face is not even that bad! It is just getting everything shipped out in a timely fashion. Fortunately, I have a helpful network of professional friends who have a few books under their belts and who've been giving me stellar advice, and after my last Kickstarter I learned a thing or two about shipping. Mainly, that shipping takes a LOT of time, money, and excel charts.
Which is why I'm going to hire Card Kingdom to fulfill shipping! They have a team of professionals who will make sure it all runs quickly and smoothly, which is preferable to me endlessly shoving things in boxes in my basement, alone, while I should be working on comics.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
