WE KNOW WE'VE MET OUR BASE GOAL, AND WE THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS, BUT REMEMBER, IF YOU WANT TO DONATE, LAMPS COST A WHOLE LOT OF MONEY ($650-$800 EACH), THINK ABOUT MAINTENANCE CONTRACTS, PUBLIC PERFORMING RIGHTS, LENSES, AND ALL OF THE EXPENSES THAT GO ALONG WITH MAKING THIS THE BEST MOVIE EXPERIENCE WE CAN... WE WANT IT TO BE GREAT, AND THE MORE MONEY WE GET, THE BETTER EQUIPMENT WE CAN AFFORD! THANKS SO MUCH FOR SUPPORTING OUR DREAM!
Help us bring movies back to The Martin Theatre! The Martin Theatre is a Historic Art Deco Theater located downtown Panama City, Florida. The Martin Theater first opened its doors in 1936 as a cinema house. Early memories boast visits by such notables as Clark Gable, Constance Bennett, Michael O'Shea, William Boyd, and cowboy great Bob Elliott.
Over the 76 year span, the Martin Theatre has transformed from a cinema to a community theatre, which brings acts in from around the globe and promotes local talent to the masses. However, with all the great technology available today, there is no reason why the Martin can’t go back to its roots, while still showcasing great performers.
That’s where you come in.. Great technology cost money. We need to raise $2000 to purchase the projector we will need to show the movies! Every little bit helps and we would greatly appreciate your support in helping us reach this goal!
Please, join us as we venture back to 1936 and bring you the great classics that you can’t see on the big screen anymore. All showings will feature food, beverages and a full bar, which you will be able to take into the theatre with you and enjoy while you’re watching the show!
We plan to have movies once a month starting in September. Can’t wait to see you there!
