We are SilvermoonlightCoven, an LGBTQ+ run Etsy shop that creates and produces items for people of the craft.
Our shop is composed of people in our legitimate coven and some partnering businesses in the Boise, Idaho area.
We started our shop as a way to raise money for a house for our homeless members while also giving back to the people who supported us. We are still working our way towards that goal, and this is one of the ways we will get even closer.
Now that you know a little more about us, let's get into the Tarot cards!
The idea for the cards came when I (Pan Silvermoonlight) was searching for my own tarot deck. I had very little luck finding a deck that resonated with me despite searching various sites for days on end. My partner Kratos suggested that I should create my own deck, but I had no idea what I wanted let alone what I should make. Then I came across an old photo of my cat Pistachio laying on the galaxy backdrop I used for my products. Thats when it all clicked.
I took a couple weeks off at my day job, and went to work making the tarot deck I had envisioned. I had originally envisioned traditionally shaped cards, but when I was looking through my options for printing, I came across the hexagonal design and I knew that was what I was meant to do.
Combining sacred geometry with the properties of tarot was such a perfect fit, and upon completing my first rough copy I realized just how amazing and life changing the experience was.
I saw the abundance of tarot appreciation here on kickstarter, and I decided that I should share my creation with all of you.
The cards are 3.25 x 3.75 inches. A photo is posted above regarding the measurements.
They are printed on 300gsm paper with a gloss finish, and there is also an option to add a holographic finish if desired. The thickness of the paper is essential as it makes the cards extremely durable, but also allows for easy shuffling. The gloss and holographic finishes make the colors vibrant and mimics the colors of space more effectively than without.
They will also come shrink wrapped in a box with the same finish as the cards to ensure quality throughout the shipping process.
Risks and challenges
The only challenge we may encounter is the shipment time. We added two extra months to our deadline in order to make up for any time issues we may encounter. We are planning to get the cards shipped out by August at the very latest with 2-5 day USPS first class shipment for US backers, and 6-10 day USPS international priority shipping for backers outside the US.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
