BE A PART OF MY NEW RECORD!!
My name is Ben Glover. I am a singer-songwriter originally from Glenarm, N.Ireland, but now split my time between there and Nashville, Tennessee. I am preparing to make my fifth album and want to share its story...
In October I will be making my new record in a spectacular part of the world where I spent a lot of my childhood. We will set up camp in a house at the foot of a mountain overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in Inishowen, Ireland. This recording process is going to be completely different to the way I’ve made my four previous records. Those were recorded in Nashville, but this time we’re taking the process out of the confines of the studio and putting it in the living room where I wrote many of my first songs and spent many nights playing late night sessions with local musicians. Having spent a lot of time over the past six years in the southern states of the US soaking up so many rich experiences both musical and otherwise, I feel it's now time to come back home and make a record in the place where I grew up.
I’m bringing my producer and my guitarist over from Nashville to join some of the musicians that I’ve played and toured with through the years at home - basically bringing my two worlds together. The plan is to bring studio gear into that living room and press record. We will spend two weeks recording the songs and then return back to Nashville in November for mixing and mastering.
After spending four months earlier in the year on the road trying out new material I am just as excited about the songs we are recording as I am the recording process. I’ve been lucky enough to write the majority of this record with my producer, the mightily talented Neilson Hubbard and with two truly great writers/artists Mary Gauthier and Gretchen Peters. I feel this is the best music I’ve written and I am genuinely excited for you to hear it and to be a part of making this record happen!
We will have a videographer on hand to capture the making of the record. There is so much to this project, from the writing to the unique way we are recording it, to the players involved in making it, I look forward to documenting the entire process and sharing it with you.
There is a lot involved in making a record and it can be a very costly thing to do. From renting the studio gear, paying the producer, engineer and musicians for their time and contributions. Then there are the mixing, mastering, art design & manufacturing fees. It all adds up.
My hope is that via Kickstarter you and I can team up to make this record a reality. In exchange for pledging your support I am excited to be able to offer you a list of exclusive rewards which you will see on the right-hand side of this page. You can also contribute any amount you choose (just click on one of the awards and go to 'edit Pledge').
The target is set at £6,500 which will cover the very basic expenses of recording. If we raise more than this goal, that money will be used for radio promotion and publicity, which often costs more than the recording itself. I will stay in touch with you throughout the recording process keeping you posted via my Kickstarter blog and tell you more about the record, the players, the studio and all that's involved and share photos and stories as well.
With the musicians involved, with the location of the recording being so remarkable and with these songs I am certain that we will be able to make a very special album. Of course it will be largely due to your support and us working together that we can make this happen, so I want say a massive thank you for considering jumping onboard with me! We only have 30 DAYS to raise the funds so please help me spread the word to your friends on Facebook, Twitter, Blogs!
Thanks for listening to my story...let's hit record.
With sincere gratitude

Risks and challenges
Having made four indie records over the past six years I have learned how to work within a budget and how to ensure I deliver the project on time. I am very confident that myself and the crew assembled around me can overcome any challenges that arise.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
