SofaDeck - Changing the way you Game and Browse!
Ever wanted to be able to use your PC on that swanky new LED TV? Like us you’ve undoubtedly struggled to find a solution to the dreaded "keyboard on lap and mouse on a book" scenario? Well we have what you need!
SofaDeck has been created and designed by Gamers for the Gamer... We want the best, and we want to be able to use our own kit in comfort from any room in the house, office or LAN party. We don't like compromise nor discomfort; we’ve made the product as comfortable, flexible and usable as possible.
Height adjustable design:
The product is kept in place by the central pillar, this section has a slightly wider bottom which slides just under the thighs which results in a stable experience, without the need to use your legs as support for the deck.
- SofaDeck allows for users, to adjust the height of the product. The lock and pin mechanism allows plenty of height adjustment. The product can be lowered to 10cm and can raise to a max of 22cm which is ideal for even the largest of us. I am 6'2” and have no issues.
Gadget slot - Customize your space!
- SofaDeck was built with the idea of allowing Gadgets to be added, we had to think long and hard on how many gadgets one would want? So we decided on a maximum of two, we thought most people would want a pot/holder of some sort? and perhaps something for a Tablet/phone or even an ashtray...but the beautiful part is that you can always 3D print your own! We would love to see your creations.
- Gadgets are something we are super pleased with, We plan to release more before our launch date and will happily take user suggestions. Email us at email@example.com
The tray - Where your cables and hub live.
- Ths is the inside, looks a little rough at the moment. This is the initial prototype and it has been through the wars! The tunnels in the middle are where cables are fed. These can accommodate pretty thick cables, so don't worry about space! Plus you will be provided cable wraps to keep everything tidy! The left hand side where those white holes are is the secret compartment. We are placing a wall across and a lid will be provided, that is somewhere in my office at the moment :)This is the inside, looks a little rough at the moment but this was my Prototype and it has been through the wars. USB 3.0 Hub
SofaDeck comes with a fully working USB 3.0 hub, The hub has three internal ports with a further two on the outside. The unit is replaceable and can be removed by unscrewing two internal screws.
The product will be shipping with a 5m USB 3.0 cable also to allow connection to your PC. And we are also planning on a Wireless version.
Designed in the UK by D2M Innovation.
SofaDeck was designed and prototyped by D2M Innovation based in Cheltenham. D2M were pinnacle in helping complete the design and provide me with the support, that I required to bring the product to the stage we are at now.
Health and Safety:
From an ergonomic view, the product has been designed so that the lid sits at the optiam recommended 11 degree angle to help prevent RSI and other aches and pains. A key feature is the plastic itself. Which has been injected with an anti-bacterial coating. This helps prevent infection, and spread of illness and bugs.
SofaDeck was created because we were fed up of never having enough space to get a proper computer table, or wanting to use a large screen in the house which is typically in the lounge. About 15 months ago we said to ourselves; why not create the solution to our problem!
We always liked the idea of using a television as a screen and having the possibility of lounging around on a sofa or from bed.. It has been 12 months of hard work, working out materials, dimensions and what exactly people would want. But we are finally there and are happy to finally be able to tell the world about our journey.

Risks and challenges
Designing and manufacturing new products always involves risk. We've spent over 12 months refining the SofaDeck design and taking advice from UK based experts to minimize these risks.
If we find opportunities for improvement we will address them immediately with updated and improved design solutions. We will let you know if any improvements and alterations are made. These improvements will then be verified in the final testing stage in December 2015 when the first product articles from the production line will be tested. Final tweaks will then be made before the full production run in January 2016.
When the volume production run commences we will be present supervising all aspects of the production and the quality assurance. We are completely committed to ensuring that SofaDeck lives up to our high expectations of functionality and craftsmanship.
We have kept our reward tiers as simple as possible to ensure fulfilment goes smoothly. We know this is where many KickStarter projects have slipped up in the past and we do not underestimate this stage's challenges.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
