Long Blades: A well balanced tool that is well suited for almost any situation. Critical Strike: Lacerate, a devastating slash that causes the target to bleed, dealing damage as they move.
Bludgeons: Heavy strikes allow the wielder to control the battlefield by knocking back enemies. The high damage blows come at a cost of increased stamina requirement. Critical Strike: Concuss, smashes the target interrupting their attacks and temporarily stunning them.
Axes: The perfect weapon for getting up close and personal with your enemies. Fast attacks, low stamina usage, and quick charge speeds allow the user to unleash a flurry of chops, but their low range and tiny knock-back means that your strategic options are limited. Critical Strike: Sunder, split away the defenses of your foes increases the damage of subsequent attacks.
Thrown Weapons: Held in the offhand, these lightweight ranged weapons allow for advanced positioning by attacking from afar. Their low damage means they're best used when supplemented with other beefier weapons. Critical Strike: Ricochet, the thrown weapon will bounce off of enemies hitting multiple targets that are close in proximity.
Short Blade: Short and pointy blades perfectly suited for the art of assassination. Their low damage and range are compensated by their silent stabs, low stamina requirement, and their ability to do massive sneak attack damage. Critical Strike: Lunge, close large gaps by silently lunging forward allowing the user to strike targets more easily and ensure sneak attacks.
Bows: These two-handed ranged weapons are perfect for striking at long distances. While bows deal massive damage, they must be drawn not only affecting the damage they deal, but the range of their projectile. Critical Strike: Power Shot, the extreme drawn force of the bow unleashes massive power and deals huge damage. Perfect for sniping enemies from afar.
Spears: Long pointed polearms that allow the user to control the battle by positioning themselves out of immediate danger. Their extended range's power is offset by their slower attack speeds and higher stamina costs. Critical Strike: Cripple, striking a weak point in the target's defense, this move allows the user to control crowds with ease by slowing enemy's move speed

Aethyr is a passion project that I, Labyrinth, have been working on for 5 years. My goal was to create a game that evoked all the same emotions that the games I cherish elicited in me when I first played them. A sense of creativity, exploration, challenge, and immersiveness. Initially I started the project alone, but later joined together with Andre Sargeant; an extremely talented artist and animator. Together we've poured our hearts and souls into Aethyr to make it the best game we can.
With the game's engine nearly feature complete we look forward to building the content within the world and making rich and beautiful environments to explore, and this can only be achieved with your help on Kickstarter.
In a long forgotten past, the gods whispered the secrets of the arcane arts. With these abilities mankind gave birth to great civilizations, scholarly works, and divine art. Grand cities were constructed around immense temple complexes, and a vast network of magical gateways united the kingdoms through the Aethyr. In this golden age, monuments were created in gratitude to a selfless pantheon who had gifted their divine wisdom. Although, whether through mishap or misdeed, mankind was struck down at their highest peak, a cataclysm tore the world asunder, wiping clean the legacy of man from the pages of history. As centuries passed, the rolling tides of time came to snuff out the final flame of humanity, but from despair an adventurer washed ashore from a distant land. With a final quest to discover untold truths and prevent an impending doom, a hero sets to journey an untrodden path and unveil a mysterious history.
Discover the world of Aethyr with clues left behind in dark dungeons, gloomy caves, and dusty archives. Unravel the secrets through a narrative told within the game world, and read through lore rich tomes and decipher meaning from ancient art to uncover a deep non-linear story. Aethyr's story is weaved into it's world, and it's up to you to uncover it.

Risks and challenges
There's a difficult road ahead, but luckily most of the intensive work has already been completed in the 5 previous years of development. From this point on the greatest challenges will be; fleshing out the ideas to form the cohesive world of Aethyr, further pushing the game play mechanics to create new and fun engaging ideas, and finally the hours and hours of testing to make everything feel just right!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
