"You Can Do It, Bunny" as seen recently in the Huffington Post!
This is so amazingly awesome! I can't believe how many procrastinating friends I have :-) Thank you for all the last-minute support. As a reminder, EVERYONE who pledges gets their names into the book itself, on a special "thank you" page.
New stretch goal - $4000!
What shall I do with the "stretch" goal $? Great question! -- Print more books! In printing, there are different types of printers one can use, and better quality / more efficient printers.
You Can Do It, Bunny! is a fresh, fun, and encouraging tale about finding one's career path after graduation, even in a shaky economy. The story takes the tones of an "Urban Outfitters-y" "Barenstein Bears" meets "Go the F to Sleep." Even though it's a book about job-hunting, ANYBODY can enjoy it -- not just job-hunters. Check out the video for a preview.
I created this book while I was job-hunting, following graduation from my Master's program. To relieve myself of the stress of filling out job applications, I started experimenting with writing and illustration, and the result was this "based on true life" story about a job-hunting cartoon bunny rabbit.
Excerpts from the book:
Now bunny had to find a job.
She interviewed for a number of positions
But somehow there always seemed to be better-qualified animals for the positions.
luckily she has the best friends and family in the world
even as things go from bad to worse
she stays persistent & determined
and eventually ...
Advance Praise for "You Can Do It, Bunny!"
"You Can Do It, Bunny! bolstered my confidence that I will finally get hired in this economy. The pages also did a great job of absorbing my tears as I read rejection letter after rejection letter."

The raising of money:
The book is totally finished - drawings, text, layout. I'm self-publishing it because I just want people to be able to enjoy my book in the most uncomplicated way possible. But printing is expensive. Hence, the kickstarter.
For as little as $1, you can have an electronic version or .pdf. If you're currently job-hunting, please take advantage of this low-priced special on electronic books.
For $20, a physical book (hardcover if I raise more than 2000, softcover if I raise less). For $30, an autographed book. Did I mention that this book would make an amazing gift for a job-hunting friend?
For higher amounts - Books if you want them, but more importantly, you will have the satisfaction of helping me spread a positive message and achieve a profound personal goal (If I can raise more $ and print in bulk, I can be a "true" publisher, so to speak).
