Architectural structures are an occurrence undoubtedly common to all regions of the world. Whether used as shelter, place of worship, or means for public gatherings, they have always been an integral part of the human experience. The styles in which buildings were erected varied greatly based on their geographical location, as well as their placement on the timeline of humankind.
Architrays is a project inspired by the variety of forms and details present in different architecture movements. It is a design study exploring the differences between various styles and implementing some of their characteristics into simple, aesthetically pleasing, functional desk accessories.
We have translated large scale details into everyday objects, therefore; bridging the gap between architecture and product design. Each Architray highlights a specific detail found in its corresponding style. The presented run includes only four of the multitude of existing architectural styles. If successful, the collection will be expanded and presented for retail. We need backers like you to make our vision a reality. What we offer in exchange is a unique, high quality product which will breathe new life into your work space.
All of our designs are fully finalized, prototyped, and ready for production. What we need your help with is the necessary funds for additional silicone molds and materials. Your contributions will also be crucial when it comes to packaging costs, and all the little things without which our project would not be possible.
Meet the Trays
Concrete is rigid, durable and easy to form in its liquid state. A major factor in having concrete as the dominating material was its long relationship with the world of architecture. The soft felt used for the bottom of the tray serves as a beautiful juxtaposition and a functional detail.
The utilized materials are durable and high quality. The soft underlining ensures safety and prevents surface scratching.
Images not to scale
the7thFl consists of two founders- Fabio Castellanos and Natalia Szabla. Our paths first crossed in Design School, and since then we’ve had a chance to collaborate on multiple projects. While working together, what we found was that our compatible styles, ways of thinking and ambitions can serve as a foundation for making our mark on the world of Design.
A survey will be distributed at the end of this campaign in which all the backers will get to choose their desired trays.
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge that we are hoping for would be a large amount of orders. This would require us to take a step back and produce more silicone molds. Even though all of the offered models are finalized, things might take a bit more time in the event of a large scale production.
We will make sure to keep you up to date during the process.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
