A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Jean Lorentz was founded by Joakim in Gothenburg Sweden in the summer of 2016.
The name of the company is a tribute to the founders great grandfather whose name was Jean Lorentz.
He grew up in Gothenburg in the early 1900s, that's why we've decided to name our different models/styles after neighborhoods in Gothenburg.
Our goal with Jean Lorentz is to become an established eyewear brand within the next 5-10 years, we are not just going to produce this collection and then close down shop.
We want to do this for real, this is our future.
And now, with your help, that dream can become a reality.
The team at Jean Lorentz has come up with a unique way of using sunglasses.
We've been inspired by Scandivaian design with clean lines and ingenuity.
Our vision is to provide sunglasses to a reasonable price without compromising with the quality.
The quality is always the main focus when we develope our products.
Our Sunglasses are made out of premium materials.
Our first model i called Vasa and has a matt black acetate frame with a dark grey lens.
Our second model i called Haga and has a matt black acetate and metal frame with a dark grey lens.
Our third model i called Linné and has a matt black metal frame with a dark grey lens.

Sunglasses for every occasion
We have decided to redefine the classics and are makeing sunglasses for every occasion. All of our frames are made in a matt black color and since the temples are replaceable with an easy "click on click of" motion, you can mix and match the style of your sunglasses depending on your mood or outfit.
No matter if you're on a jungle hike...
Chilling on the beach with some friends or...
Just hanging around in an epic sunset we have the sunglasses just for you!

Risks and challenges
The factory we work with is a very reputable watch factory with a solid background of creating good quality eyewear.
All communication with the factory has been fast and smooth and we’re happy to say that they are as focused on quality as we are.
We believe that we have reduced the risk of manufacturing delays in the best way possible by good communication and solid prototype work. Of course one can never be fully certain when it comes to manufacturing and the estimated delivery time is only an estimation.
We have set a delivery time to Mars and we really believe we can keep that timeline and will do everything in our power to do so.
To ensure that every pair of sunglasses is created to our high standards we will keep a constant contact with our factory and we will have quality controls both at the factory and in Sweden before shipping.
Nevertheless we will keep you, our backers, up to date during every step of the production process and we will always be as transparent as possible if there are any hiccups.
We hope this will be a smooth ride for us and for you.
