We have 6 weeks still left in our campaign and many of you have asked us about the vast amount of extra footage we have, far more than we could ever hope to fit in the current 40mins of extras we have planned for the DVD and Blu-ray, let alone the main feature film itself. A lot of you seem very interested in seeing extended interviews of so many of our interviewees, a brief example would be extended segments of David Braben talking about Elite, Matthew Smith on Manic Miner & Jet Set Willy, Jeff Minter on Sheep in Space, Julian Rignall and Gary Penn on ZZAP!64 and Rob Hubbard, Martin Galway and Ben Daglish on their specific music to name just a few, the list goes on and on of interviewees, subject matter and possible content. We feel there is at least an additional 2 hours of material we can create on top of the 2 hour movie and 40 mins of special feature materials we are already committed to under the current campaign, therefore making this the most comprehensive coverage of the UK Video Games story possible!

For us to include an extra 2 hours of material would mean it having to sit on a separate disc, making it a 2-disc Special Edition package for the physical DVD and Blu-ray versions, and a separate download for the digital version. This Special Edition would also have to have its own unique specially designed Oliver Frey 'reversible cover' (please see image below) so it stands separately from the current DVD, Blu-ray and Digital versions and gives the owner the freedom of either displaying the Special Edition cover or reverse it for the classic poster cover.

We've come up with the idea of A FREE UPGRADE to this Mega, comprehensive 4 ½ hour SPECIAL EDITION VERSION of the film to all our backers if we reach our DREAM GOAL, which can be achieved if you HELP US SPREAD THE WORD on our campaign and bring in just 9 of your friends and colleagues each.

How to upgrade for free?

With time left on our campaign we can all use it to really SPREAD THE WORD & bring even MORE PEOPLE into the campaign. More people means more funds to help bring us closer to our DREAM GOAL OF £100k! Achieving a budget of £100k (which to give you an example is a low to medium budget for most BBC FOUR 60 min documentaries) means we will be able to edit together all the extra sequences and create at least an EXTRA 2 HOURS OF FURTHER CONTENT for this SPECIAL EDITION as well as creating the package itself.We will also be able to license more archive footage and stills, as well as more licensed music from the era we're documenting.

At time of writing with your help we have raised £28,000 thanks to 385 backers. Working on that basis if each of you brings just 9 people into the campaign who each, at the very least buy a copy of the film we will reach our dream goal of £100k. We think that is a VERY ACHIEVABLE GOAL, there must be more people out there that are fans of the UK Video Games Industry and want to see this story told. All we have to do is REACH THEM and TELL THEM about the film and for this we NEED YOUR HELP!
