A game Inspired by action arcade games from the 80's and 90's such as Golden Axe and TMNT the arcade game. We decided to create this old school beat-em-up side scroller with some new school touches!
In a turn on classic fantasy tropes, we would like to introduce you to an old school game with some new school fun: Ugh's Revenge. Not all ogres in our world are horrible monsters of murderous destruction. Not until they are driven to it at least.
The star of our game is a lowly ogre named Ugh who loses his brother in an unprovoked attack by the "good" guys.
All Ugh wanted was to hunt, play, and drink with his brother, Chug, in their lonely corner of an unnamed forest, but it was not to be. A group of adventurers seeking untold riches (and all the xp's!) stumble on the brothers playing a game, and decide that the two must have piles of treasure in their humble hovel. Ugh is grievously wounded in the attack and he wakes from near death to find that his brother and best friend did not survive the attack.
It is now Ugh's mission to seek(as he would say) "all the vengeances!", and find the adventuring party who took his brother from him. The dwarves, humans, and elves shall pay for their transgression in blood and beards!!
Our game will include fun features like: Tossing your enemies at each other, ripping off dwarf beards to add to your collection, and upgrading your weapon arsenal to improve your ability to make your enemies rethink their life choices!
Bring a friend and utilize couch Co-op so that your buddy can join in on the mayhem. Test your skills, and your anger management, in 'Feel the Rage' difficulty mode.
Risks and challenges
The main challenge in creating this game is that we have only been able to work on it part time while holding down full time jobs to pay the bills. But we want to be able to change that and give this game the time and attention it deserves.
Quality is never going to be the problem as we have put all we can into it. We have spent countless hours thus far, programming, modeling, and animating to try and make it as enjoyable to play as it has been to design.
With a successful campaign we will be able to turn our attention to it full time. This will allow us to complete it sooner, and perhaps add some additional content that we currently don't have the time, or resources, to do. Regardless of the outcome of this Kickstarter campaign we will finish this game, it will just take longer than we hoped.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
