About this project
Now in it's 4th year, Queens Council on the Arts
June 14-17, 2012
a world of art in a single borough
Want to check out amazing art, great food and diverse culture right here in Queens? We need your help to make Queens Art Express, a 4 day multi-media festival, the best one yet.
QAX would not be possible without people like you who support local arts and culture. We are thankful for your help to raise $5,000 to pay for festival costs like artists fees, venue and equipment rentals, tech support, and marketing.
The purpose of QAX is to bring you to where the art is throughout the borough from Long Island City to Jamaica and all points in between and right in your neighborhood.
Here's a taste of some of the events:
- Thalia Spanish Theatre's La Callas & Medea
- BodyArtDance's Anatomy of Lost
- Sunnyside Artist's Fair V and Feast - One Stop | Two Shows | 60 Artists
- Bowne House Museum's Open House & Garden
- The Oracle Club's The Craft of Literary Satire
- and much much more
Hungry for more? Check out our YouTube series Moveable Feast. Support our local restaurant partners who are bringing you authentic global cuisine. Watch. Then go eat.
We also have planned 3 commissioned public artsworks in Long Island City, Flushing and Jamaica that places power back in the hands of artists. These interactive artworks will tackle issues that affect us all: housing, the economy, healthcare. Each artwork will take place one day of the festival and is open to the public.
We appreciate your help!
