Aflockalypse: Rise of the Astral Beast is a power metal concept album that tells a fantasy story. As the world is threatened by destruction four unlikely heroes must rise up to fight the Astral Beast, an other worldly dragon hellbent on their annihilation. Experience the adventure and get to know the characters as their story is told through heroic anthems and emotional ballads.
The project was created by Chase Grozdina and David Fleig, two indie game developers and story tellers. The characters originated from a role playing campaign and their own game development efforts. Captivated by these feathered heroes, it was clear their story need to be told and what better than through the symphony that is power metal. We have teamed up with the musical powerhouse Todd Bryanton, the guitar excellence of Joachim Sandberg, and several talented vocalists such as veteran metal vocalist Stu Block (Iced Earth/ex-Into Eternity). Together we have formed a mighty group capable of slaying this beast and bringing the story of Aflockalypse to life.

We're already working on the album, and each song is currently in different stages of completion. Lyrics have been written and we have recorded the initial versions of each song. We still need to record the final vocals, record additional instrumental tracks, as well as the final edits through mixing and mastering.
Below are a few samples from the songs currently in production. The vocals are sung by Todd Bryanton and will be re-recorded later in the process.

For this campaign, we are using BackerKit, an amazing third-party service that assists in ensuring your rewards are well managed. You will confirm your shipping and email addresses are correct through their system to receive your physical and digital rewards. You will also have an opportunity to purchase add-ons or upgrades as well (Extra downloads, stickers, CDs, t-shirts, and posters). We will also be charging the shipping cost post campaign via Backerkit.
In order for our album to sound as good as possible, we need to pay for everyone's dedicated time and effort. We are already in the middle of production, but Kickstarter is a way for us to pre-sell the album and use the funds generated to make it the best we can before it gets released. This also allows us to offer some things we couldn't normally afford to produce on our own thanks to our fans.
We are asking for $8000, which is the estimated cost to finish producing the album as well as the costs to produce physical rewards. If we surpass our goal all extra money will go directly into production so that we can bring you the highest quality experience.
Like we said, all money will be going towards rewards and production costs. If we overfund the result is no different. The more money we raise the more cool things we can do!
Our stretch goals provide several physical rewards to help thank our backers along the way. If we reach high enough this gives us the ability to even expand the album above and beyond!
From all the members of our team we want to thank our friends, our supporters, and our backers. It is thanks to your encouragement and your support that makes all of this possible. We sincerely hope that you will join us on our journey and, in the end, enjoy the story of the Aflockalypse.
Risks and challenges
We feel that the risks and challenges are minimal for this Kickstarter project. Most of the songs are already somewhere in the production pipeline. A successfully funded project keeps the timetable short and everyone focused on the project.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
